there was nothing about the Howard Johnson I would recommend. they called me the day of my stay and told me I didn't have a room. they then said they could change my 2 rooms to the honeymoon suite for a big discount since it was their mistake. got there and the onsite staff was nice and gave us a rate of $77.00 but now my card got charged $141.00. I am so mad at the entire situation I will never use a Wyndem hotel again they are crooks.

The people of Waterloo are kind and friendly.

The people of Waterloo are kind and friendly. Everyone we passed said hello or gave a smile...definitely don't get much of that where we are from. Our hotel was literally in the middle of everything. We had many choices of restaurants and shopping. Can't wait to go back.

This is my hometown, now live in Oregon, haven't been back here in 16 years.......they have done lots of building and streets are all different.....came here for 4th st. cruise, and to see some old friends.....had a wonderful time, EXCEPT the first motel I was at...what a dumpster fire it was....

We only visited for the OHV park, if Waterloo didn't have an OHV park we'd never have visited. We called the police at the OHV park because there was street riders in the parking lot doing stunts the entire time and were super rude, vulgar and very unsafe, the police came and DID NOTHING!

We were here to visit the Lost Island Water Park. We had a great time at the park. The people there were friendly and helpful. The rides are amazing. I recommend the two day pass. It is a bargain. Could not have been happier with my visit.

They say you can never go back home, and its true.

They say you can never go back home, and its true. I lived in Waterloo for 30 years, and the changes that the people in charge of the town have made in the past 30 years have been terrible. The parks that I had to play in are all gone. Nothing left for a child's imagination. The shopping malls are now a joke, poorly maintained, no more anchor stores in them, a lot of empty spaces. The main drag through town to Cedar Falls is torn up, not for road repair, but for the whim of those that believe it is progress to put in round-a-bouts. In the mean time, the rest of the town has turned into a ghetto with boarded up stores and houses. The majority of the town looks trashy.

Not much!! The staff did say that they were undermanned and I suppose they tried hard!! However our room did not get cleaned and made up as requested, there was no hot breakfast as promised, the pavement which was the entrance to the hotel was horrific. We certainly did not get our money’s worth and wondered how we get at least a partial refund? You are authorized to pass these comments along to Radisson Hotels and the owner/operator of the hotel. My stay was very short. I checked in around 1:30 am. Front desk was informative when I checked in but the next morning I asked if I could have a later check out at 11:30, which is only a half an hour, and the front desk person was kind of rude about it. I mean I totally understand things don't always go as planned, I worked at several hotels so I know, but you still have to be nice to your guest.

Lady at front desk was not very friendly and her appearance was dirty. A dog was barking all night. People arguing. Got woke up at 630 with a couple fighting. Hotel smelled dirty. Parking was bad. Tub wouldn't drain while showering. Some of lights wouldnt work. Just really aggravated with the entire stay. Would not recommend.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful and clutter-free. The lobby, the breakfast area, and the rooms are very well designed. The renovation from what the hotel used to be to what is now was money well spent!
