Smaller, more intimate than Gloucester, but still accessible to Boston by commuter rail. Large selection of local artisan wares. Managed to snag a reservation at My Place By the Sea. Would revisit but not before also trying places more frequented by locals.

A charming town with much to see and do in and around the town. Excellent food options. We especially loved the lobster rolls and fries at Bearskin Neck Bistro and the donuts at the Brothers Cafe. Shalin Liu Performance Center and the Paper House were two places not to miss. And you can't leave Rockport without seeing Motif #1.

Loved - quaint downtown, views, coastal walks.
Loved - quaint downtown, views, coastal walks.
Didn’t like - no parking at Long Beach and other beaches near there except for pricey and overfilled private lots. Next time I’ll be bringing my bike to avoid the traffic and parking.
Restaurant hours are limited. Every place is booked solid or closed.

There are seafood places to eat every where with water views. The only downfall is the traffic during the summer. I probably wouldn't go again until just after Labor day, but I would definitley go back again. Ate at Mile Marker 1 and Seaport Grille which had awesome food. Pricey, but good. Well worth it!

The Seafarer is an immaculate, comfortable, and welcoming...
The Seafarer is an immaculate, comfortable, and welcoming inn. The room was spacious with a wonderful foam mattress and a small kitchenette. The public spaces are comfortable and inviting. Breakfast was plentiful, delicious, and varied.
The vintage of the beautiful old hotel located right on the shore. Our room looked right at the ocean with a large window so we could easily watch the boats and ducks on the shoreline. Our room was gorgeous with lovely antique furniture the bathroom was was very up to date there was a full refrigerator right outside our door. The breakfast was made to order each day and served in the porch of the hotel. The hotel was conveniently located close to Rockport center. The staff was very helpful.
The location is excellent right across the bay. The Cove has been renovated with very nice features- such as a large beautifully tiled shower, quaint little bathroom with a beautifully appointed bedroom with lovely coastal decor. Rockport is a charming little town with a beautiful auditorium where we listened to a flutist/piano lovely duo practice with a beautiful view of the ocean as a backdrop.
We will definitely be back to stay at The Cove at Rockport!
We cannot wait to return to the Seafarer Inn! Cape Ann is one of my favorite spots and the Inn is in a quiet location close to the ocean. The room was super clean and very comfortable as was the whole property. The breakfast each day was delicious. We enjoyed walking the Old Garden Path into Rockport proper each day. The owners are awesome and we enjoyed talking to them. You cannot go wrong staying here!
Incredible location- picturesque and convenient, within a short walk of all the best that historic Rockport has to offer.
Nice apartment- very attractive, spacious (for a couple), nicely appointed, well-equipped, cozy and welcoming.
Had no problem finding free street parking when we were there in mid/late October.
Management responded immediately to a texted request (for wi-fi password).
Rockport was a charming town and this Inn was charming as well. The owner was very nice and the place was clean and well maintained. The property is a summer rental for families and an Inn in the off season. The Inn is not a bed and breakfast so don't expect that but he does provide water, coffee and some kind of snack. I would not hesitate to book this place again.
Richard was an excellent host and very knowledgeable about the area. He gave us suggestions for things to visit during our stay. We booked here because we wanted to visit Salem, but we ended up falling in love with Rockport. We can't wait to go back again and Lantana will be our #1 choice for our accommodations.
The location was perfect, the place was lovely, so comfortable and beautifully presented. Breakfast was fantastic, the best granola I have ever tasted! Marshall was very attentive and a perfect host. Rockport is delightful and this place was a perfect base. And the bed was incredibly comfortable!
The location is great, very close to the centre of Rockport. Lovely hosts (with their two lovely dogs), cosy room, splendid home-made continental breakfast—feels like home away from home. Well, home plus home-made continental breakfast and in the pretty town of Rockport.
Liked that the room faced out to the water. Left windows open to be able to fall asleep to the sound of the surf. A balcony area to sit out with a cocktail or morning coffee. Excellent location in Rockport, walk to shops, restaurants. Friendly, accommodating proprietor.
The view was wonderful and inspiring, very relaxing! You can’t beat the breakfast, outstanding.
We would have liked to have more information on things to do in the area. We were not aware of any special services offered by the hotel.
The staff was amazing and the accommodations were wonderful! We will absolutely be returning for another stay, in the very near future, for a longer stay next time so we can enjoy the beauty of The Eagle House and the lovely Rockport.
Lovely location right by the beach. Nicely fitted out room with very comfortable bed, nice bedlinen. Good shower.
Rockport is gorgeous and was the perfect location for our last night on holiday.
This Guest House is perfection. Everything is so well thought out. The furnishings and decoration alone, are a feast for the eyes. We would return in a heartbeat. We also loved Rockport.
Helen and Dan are great host. This is a great B&B to spend few days in Rockport. Rooms is very nice and breakfast is delicious. I highly recommend ecommend the place.
Good breakfast for a continental one, but everything wrapped in plastic. Fresh fruit was offered. Close to the train station and bus stopped at the hotel. Great pool!
The Hotel was so nice and cozy! The staff was pleasant and welcoming! I would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone looking for a nice little getaway!
