The Pine Hill Arms was very cosy and well run. Our room was basic but very clean with plenty of fresh towels and nice quality cotton bedding. The hotel was obviously run w a lot of love and care by Jane and her team. This is the friendliest staff and guests too. Many guests drink and dine in the ski lodge inspired restaurant. We met so many of the guests who I was told live there on the weekends to come up to ski. We’ll be back for sure.

This is our second time here, it is beautiful, scenic, inviting, cozy, super duper clean, breakfast was better the first time around with butter milk pancakes and white bread french toast (they were oat pancakes and whole wheat french toast this time) but still ok! Staff is SO SO friendly, pool is not heated so we didn't bother this time it was kinda chilly but we did use it last time and it was ok! We are definitely coming back!!!

My partner and I stayed at Phoenicia Lodge over a long weekend in January and can’t say enough nice things! Jennifer and Maureen are wonderful, kind people and we enjoyed seeing them every day at breakfast. The room itself was sparkling clean and equipped with toiletries, a mini fridge, and a DVD player, which we used every night thanks to the Lodge’s expansive collection. A continental breakfast is available every morning (coffee, yogurt, bagels, pastries, juice, etc.) and was perfect fuel for our morning adventures on the trail. There are many nearby options available for food. Phoenicia Diner, Brio’s, Woodstock Brewing and several other dining options are only a 5 minute drive away. We spent one of our days snow tubing at Hunter Mountain (20 min drive), another hiking Kaaterskill Falls (25 min drive) with a visit to Van Winkle brewery after (35 min drive). Our last day we spent visiting the massive antique store right in town (5 min drive) and took a long walk along the Ashokan Rail Trail (10 min drive). Phoenicia Lodge was the perfect central location for us and we couldn’t have been happier. We will be back and would recommend anyone visiting the Catskills to stay here!

The location is great. The room was really nice, quite simple but comfy. I enjoyed the grounds, with the Den where you can relax and watch dvds and the bonfires lit in the garden.

This is an amazing place for family and romantic getaways, as well as for solo travelers wanting to enjoy breathtaking nature just a two-hour drive from bustling New York.
My wife and I spent two days here, and Daren's place turned out to be one of the best we've been to, though we've visited over 20 states with various apartments and houses! It's an incredibly peaceful and cozy place, well thought out to the smallest detail. Daren made sure we lacked nothing and felt at home. Very clean, pleasantly smelling of wood, lots of entertainment from a collection of movies and books to board games. Very nice and new bathroom, cute details in the kitchen like cocoa with marshmallows, clean dishes, a comfortable bed, incredibly soft sofas, warm blankets – the list goes on. Lots of useful things like local guides, books about Catskills, maps, and so on.
The location is convenient, just minutes away from an excellent diner with delicious breakfast. Easy access to famous destinations like Kaaterskill Falls, Woodstock, Catskill, and many other popular places for walking, hiking, skiing, and so on! The views of nature are mesmerizing! We can firmly say that we want to come back again, and this is definitely one of the best vacations in our life!

We loved the beautiful scenery of the Catskill forest. We traveled to Phoenicia and Margaretsville to try different dining options. Our favorite was the microbrewery in Phoenicia. Even though it rained the whole weekend we loved the trip away from crowded Long Island. The Esopus Creek is a great location to catch Trout or take a dip in hot weather. The creek is what brought me to the area.
We loved staying here. Ralph and his wife are amazing hosts. This is one of the best spots you can stay in the Catskills to go hiking as a lot of trails are nearby. Breakfast was unbelievable, really good and made to order. We really liked the size of the room, the view, and the cleanliness. You can start a bonfire across the property as well! The whole place is just idyllic. We would recommend and look forward to come back!
It is a 5 star hotel nearby all kinds of hikes incl Giant Ledge (which is during the weekdays not crowded). Rooms / Appartments are very good. This all with generous and tasty breakfast. The owner is very nice. We were with a family of 4 incl. 2 teenagers who all enjoyed it very much.
Excellent fresh breakfast and dinner was sooooo good, homemade and yummy. I love that they ring the outside bell for breakfast it adds such a old time warm feeling. I felt as if I was in Europe, service and staff exceeded any major hotel chain.
