We went to a military swap meet at the airbase and only stayed one night at the hotel. We would have liked to stay atleast 2 to 3 nights but had another engagement. Ate at a great, local restaurant downtown. Just stayed the night in town as we were coming from Harpers Ferry and were going to see Antietam National Battlefield the next day. An old town with a lot of character and history dating back...
An old town with a lot of character and history dating back to the 18th century. The downtown area a a thriving A & E district with lots of unique dining and drinking available. It is the county seat of Washington County, yes that Washington and home to a particularly delicious local food staple that can only be found in this area. I went there to see a play at the Washington County...
I went there to see a play at the Washington County Community Playhouse. The play was great. Everyone there is very friendly & accomodating. Food was good. I went too the Hagerstown Roundhouse Museum. They don't have a lot but what they do have is interesting too look at & learn about. They have an engine, several cabooses & some cars & other items outside. They have the last trolley to run in Washington County MD outside their museum. They also have a gift shop. It is always clean. I can smell just a hint bleach in the linens and the towels. I like that they have no carpet in the rooms, so I don't have to worry about allergens trapped in the rugs.
