We stayed in a tiny cabin, which was lovely. Very well put together and quiet. The quality of the shared bathhouses was excellent. I particularly liked the outdoor showers. Handy location for Bryce Canyon. Escalante itself is a cool little town.

We stopped through for 1 night only on a family road trip from Las Vegas to Denver stopping at the National Parks along the way. We love to camp and Escalante yurts was the closest thing to camping but with all the luxuries! It was clean, comfortable, delicious breakfast waiting in our room and the kids loved the swing and smores! The staff was very friendly!

So cosy, clean and very comfortable with everything you could need for a base to explore. Full Kitchen, bbq, fire pit, the works!
Featuring free WiFi, this inn is 5 minutes’ drive from Escalante Petrified Forest State Park. Each themed room offers a patio with a view and a flat-screen cable TV.
Facility was tiny - no room for two roller bags.. Bad, hard bed. Bathroom 25 yds away.
Most of all, the owner was obnoxious and threatening. Staying at this facility was the low point in vacation and/or business travel in my lifetime.
I advise travelers to avail themselves of other facilities in the area - save yourself from a genuinely unpleasant stay

I don't have anything negative to say.
I don't have anything negative to say. It was serene and a very well conceived place. A place you would like to sit and experience the openness. The restaurant adjacent to the B&B was also excellent. The best food I've ever eaten.

I stayed here on my way from California to Denver. I chose Escalante because of its chill vibe and proximity to hiking and hwy 12. It was a nice break from some of the more conservative towns I've stayed in-- plenty of places to get a beer or a drink.

Escalante is an excellent starting point for the Hole-in-the-Rock Road and other back country roads in the area which access incredible scenery and hiking. Even staying on the pavement of U12 gives you access to the Hogback, the Escalante and Calf Creek canyons, Petrified Forest State Park and Longwood Canyon. Although limited in number, the eateries were varied and all delicious (the Subway is always a staple for our trips). (There was a great chocolate peanut butter shake at the drive-in!)

Just an amazing National Monument.
Just an amazing National Monument. So much to see, from scenic drives between Escalante to Boulder and onto Capitol Reef National Park as well as hikes in slot canyons and river/wash hikes.
Would definitely make a reservation to eat at Hells Backbone Grill if you plan to stay or drive through to Torrey. Also, would recommend taking a drive along the Burr Trail Road.

Lovely little town on scenic highway 12, east of Bryce Canyon National Park. Close to very picturesque Burr Trail road (no need for 4x4!), Devil's Backbone bridge over the gorge, and other attractions. Decent food choices (although the corner bar in nearby Boulder - 30 minute drive? towards Burr Trail - is better.
This is a very nice property especially since Escalante is such a small town. The rooms are big and the lodge is very nice. We enjoyed the hot tub every night and the free buffet breakfasts in the mornings. The location is great, just a bit out of town but close enough to be convenient to everything. The pool is also nice but a little cold. I can’t say enough about the staff! Terri helped us work around some issues with our reservation and we got exactly what we wanted when we wanted it! We’ll be back to this awesome hotel!
Escalante is a remote town in a rugged area in southern Utah of immeasurable beauty. Escalante Yurts provided a bit of luxury in an otherwise sparse setting. The breakfast of assorted yummy items such as quiche, scones, cherry turnovers was very welcome as there are very few food options in town. Lovely decor, linens, friendly owners and staff. Be sure to drive over to Boulder, Utah for a great dining experience at Hells Backbone Grill & Farm.
The property was well situated very close to Main Street in Escalante and the National Park. Practical enough for hiking, as well as luxury interiors with ‘sleep like a baby’ bedding, very well-appointed bathroom and comfy robes. We had a wonderful deck around the perimeter for good dark sky star gazing. In the morning we had a delicious breakfast delivered to our room. This is glamping! The owner and staff are delightful and very helpful.
The wooden cabin was nice and cosy;
The place and territory is very nice, with garden and view to the Escalante river/ wadi;
There is no toilet and shower in the cabin, but there is separate building with showers and toilet;
Everything was clean
Location is excellent: close to the slot canyons, Calf Creek waterfalls trials, Zebra & Tunnel canyons, BigHorn canyon, etc.
Very nice clean two decent rooms combined, with a cowboy look. I just recently realized owner operated hotels in good neighborhoods are the way to go, they care more then chain motels, but the price is vary from inexpensive / to a little higher. I think it's worth it. I sent pictures back home because wall art / kitchen table really neat. You don't see that anywhere...
If you want something different from ordinary same old hotel room, this is it. It is western motif and every room has a different theme. We had a king named the Antler Room. Each room has rocking chairs or some kind of seating outside on the front porch. We enjoyed sitting outside after dinner. There is everything you need for a comfortable stay in Escalante.
The highlight of the Slot Canyon Inn was the location! I loved sitting on the little deck outside my room enjoying the view and the wild turkeys and cattle in the pasture. It was great to be close to Escalante, but a little out of town. Everyone was very welcoming, and were easily able to accommodate a special request I made.
This was the nicest yurt I have ever seen. From the small dining area, the bed, the couch area and the bathroom, all was so clean and luxurious. Definitely nicer than many hotels I have stayed in. Only wish our itinerary would have allowed for more than 1 night there. Perfect set up and roomy for a yurt. We loved it!
Tom, the inn owner/host, was super friendly and helpful. He gave us some amazing food / hiking recommendations and helped us feel right at home. We were only in Escalante for one night but I would definitely come back / recommend this inn to anyone visiting the area
Traveling through The Grand Staircase-Escalante. Searched for a place to spend a night before traveling on. Wonderful choice! Would definitely recommend. The facilities were excellent and exceptionally clean and well maintained
Stayed in the family suite with my husband and two kids. Space was perfect. Kitchen had everything we needed. Had more than enough room to accommodate the whole family. Easy walk to Escalante Outfitters for pizza dinner.
So cozy, beautiful and comfy , and the owner is just an amazing person he helps you more and beyond and all his stories are so interesting , highly recommneded and if i come back to escalante definetly booking here
The location is great for exploring the escalante grand staircase area. The cabins were very nice and very clean and the pizza they sell in the store area is excellent we ate it both nights we were there.
Absolute gem in Escalante and probably the best place to stay in SW od US. Easy self check in, super clean and comfy room, designed with taste. Loved the place!
The hotel's exterior is very nice, far superior to anything else in the area. The room was very spacious with a loveseat. The facilities were very clean.
