Crowne Plaza Newark Airport, an IHG Hotel, hotel in East Orange

Providing free 24-hour transfers to Newark International Airport, this New Jersey hotel is a short distance from attractions, including New York City and offers on-site dining and modern amenities.

The only good thing is the shuttle which serves the purpose of staying near airport. Everything that is available just bare minimum. Check in was easy, but there is no hospitality about this hotel.

My first visit to East Orange, due to needing a hotel room...

My first visit to East Orange, due to needing a hotel room during a Newark flight interruption. I didn’t see anything in East Orange worth coming back for, frankly. The town seems down on its luck. I used public transportation to get to and from the airport and that worked ok. The city hall looks nice and clean but that’s about it.

Despite having a confirmed reservation- I was told there were no rooms available There are no chairs in the lobby but I was able to stay while I tried to find another hotel. I was unsuccessful and after about two hours I went to the desk again and asked why they would not honor a confirmed reservation. Then I was told well someone checked out early so I could get a room. It was 12:30 in the morning!

It looked like everything of value was sold. No lights by bed, no overhead light, sheets had crumbs in one bed carpet dirty and stained. Loud with lots of late night 1 am noise coming from others on floor. Rm smelled like smoke and ???The worst hotel experience I ever had. Is this a flop house???

My sister and I DID NOT STAY at the hotel. There were some VERY unruly young people both male and female acting stupid with front desk reception. There was an exotic dancer (stripper) in the lobby. It was sad. Very, Very VERY SAD.

Honestly nothing was nice about this hotel. It was a filthy, partially functional, bug infested dump with no free breakfast or free shuttle (advertised as free per booking.com).

If you walk 10 min to the bus, you can go to Prudential center. It's like 40 minutes away from the hotel. The personal was kind, smiles, gentle. I really like staying there.
