We liked the convenience to Tallahassee, where our family activities were. We liked the selection of good seafood restaurants in the area. We liked that the area is quiet, no big rushing traffic like in Tallahassee.

It was a very short stay, but what I can say for sure is they do not have full service kitchens open late, except for fast food. We had to go to Winn Dixie to get some food and bring it to the hotel. If you are planning to travel late and prefer healthier food options, plan accordingly.
The Magnuson Hotel is easy to get to, right on US98 (Coastal Highway). The hotel is clean, quiet, comfortable, and friendly. There is a restaurant right next door, and a good local BBQ place about 1 mile away. This is my usual stop-over when I am travelling from Cocoa to Ft. Walton Beach which I do about twice a year.
The location was very peaceful and the hotel had a wonderful old fashioned feel to it. There were walking and biking trails on site and the highlight was the boat tour with an entertaining and informative commentary by Colin the park ranger. We had lunch and dinner in the hotel and thoroughly enjoyed both.
The breakfast was great! The best we've ever had at a hotel. I especially liked the little omelets. The location was close to Tallahassee but not many restaurants near the hotel, I loved the gazebo. We could enjoy sitting outside. We had a nice picture window that looked out on the wooded scenery.
Amazing location in the Wakulla State Park. Beautiful, unique hotel. Restaurant was reasonably priced and offered good variety of dishes. There was also a snack bar and souvenir shop.
You can take a boat trip down the springs which is very good value and right by the Lodge.
The hotel is very old and therefore very charming. Yes the rooms are old, that adds to the charm of the Lodge. Everything was very clean. Also definitely do the boat ride offered there. It's only 8 dollar per person and you get to see a lot of wildlife.
Stylish, classic hotel in a beautiful natural setting. Comfortable room. Facing the springs, great place for a swim in clean water in a superb environment. We saw a manatee in the pool aera both times.
The close location to St. Marks and Panacea was great. Gave us lots of places to go and find launching points for the boat plus there was a side lot for dropping the trailer which was very helpful.
Very nice, modern hotel with good facilities, including an outdoor pool. A seafood restaurant was nearby as was a walking trail. There were plenty of breakfast options. Staff was quite courteous.
Clean and tidy hotel, although more like a motel with a courtyard. Easy to find and good parking. I liked the breakfast. There is an amazing bbq smokehouse about 3 minutes drive down the road.
Pet friendly, comfortable, clean and appeared standard to chain hotels in terms of appearance. We appreciated the proximity to Wakulla Springs State Park and we made a visit there.
Breakfast was delicious but the room was very average. I don't see how they can charge $160 per night at this hotel. Definitely not worth it. What I paid was over-priced as well
Check in with helpful staff. Computer available. Nice room and bathroom; showerhead especially appreciated. Free breakfast OK. Good location for proximity to Wakulla Springs
A unique period hotel in an interesting setting within the state park. I was able to watch manatees bobbing their heads out of the water as I sat at breakfast.
Good clean hotel, located on main road, bed was good. like being able to open window. glad there was more than the usual number of coffee packs in room
