Karlstad is the biggest little city in Sweden and a joy to visit. What other city with <100,000 population even has its own opera house and cathedral? The architecture is beautiful and the town is built in a comfortable way so you get to be in many parks and river along with shopping centers and places to eat. The City itself is cute. Loots of water.. Beautiful. Goos to powerwalk around the water area. And great restaurants, especially one called Electric something.. :) Ask around and people will know it. Its an old Electric store made to a beautiful restaurant with food that looks and tastes amazing!

Beautiful city with awesome nature, beaches, coffee stops, nice restaurants, especially Mariebergskogen with small animal and birds and museum, garden, playground in it with fancy train only for sightseeing was awesome. Friendly people and good communication. Luckily we were not sick because I am not looking forward to visit the hospital "centralsjukhuset Karlstad".

Free parking was a reason to book this hotel since we have a van. From the hotel to the city center is about 2,5km. The route goes right next to the river (we had our own bikes). Breakfast was nothing special but had pretty much everything (except oatmeal).
