I love to ski at Åre and go annually.
I love to ski at Åre and go annually. The mountain is excellent with a large variety of terrain. I mostly ski advanced terrain but there is also a nice mix of intermediate and beginner slopes. For advanced skiers, head to the VM:8. Its worth trying Duved for Intermediates and Björnen for the beginners. I usually go on the train from Stockholm which is very convenient and fast to go city center to town center. It's really nice to stay in Åre By where there are restaurants and stores. Apres ski at Fjällgården and Årehyddan are great as is the atmosphere at Broken.

Are was great, but the surroundings were amazing.
Are was great, but the surroundings were amazing. Loved staying in the town near the funicular railway, however, we were XC skiing so had to drive to the resorts. Skiied at Bjornen, but the real secret is to drive out to Valadalen which is magical. Beautiful scenery, clean air, very few people and fabulously maintained ski tracks.

Pretty nice place for cross-country skiing!
Pretty nice place for cross-country skiing! The trucks in Bjornen are very well structured: 1,3,5,7.5,10 and 15 km, with and without steep slopes. Glogg was served for free on the Christmas Eve. Very good cafes and ski rental services.

Excellent location for anyone looking for some adventurous...
Excellent location for anyone looking for some adventurous outdoor activities. Beautiful scenery, fresh air and a very pleasant atmosphere.
My favorite locations include Åreskutan (the peak of Mount Åre) accessible via cable car or hiking, the chocolate factory and also the waterfall Ristafallet located about 15 km from Åre.
Great and comfortable option. Some rooms are really super, big and with views (No. 451), some very small and claustrophobic (No. 450). Good breakfast with many options. During the "Student Week" in January 2024 there was a DJ and live band playing every day after skiing. Ski rental on site - VERY convenient and helpful staff. Free old-school mountain train to the centre of the village.
An outstanding appartment- great views over Åre Lake and the village. Fully equipped kitchen, sauna, spacious living room/kitchen, two large bedrooms and two smaller ones - plenty of space as we were a family of four. Excellent facilities, from indoor parking to drying cupboard (for clothes) - we found all we needed. Truly a home away from home.
As always this hotel offers everything one needs to relax and recuperate after days spent on the mountains. The gym, swimming pool, large rooms with a lot of light and nice views, not to mention the great looking restaurant all make for a good value for money. Probably the best place to crash in Åre.
1. location - close to our places of interest: Are and Are Bjornen
2. natural setting, tranquility
3. endowment with the necessary structure. We didn't miss anything
4. the supermarket located at 50m
5. Last but not least, the host, very receptive to wishes and very kind
Pleasent nordic cottage atmosphere. I loved the capacious lobby with three-story fireplace. Shops(grocery, gifts, soprt goods) are reachable within building. Rooms are equiped with dryer-closets for winter or rainy season.
Perfectly located. Supportive and friendly staff. I found the breakfast quite ok and useful as we could carry it along during the day whilst hiking around the area. The view from my room was beaaautiful.. :)
Convenient to ski lift. Very good breakfast. Comfortable beds. The owners are very nice and very accommodating. The place was VERY clean and organized. I would happily recommend this place.
Friendly and warm atmosphere. The quality of the Spa/Sauna was a pleasant surprise. Breakfast and breakfast room had a nice vintage feel to it. Great place to stay in Åre.
Really nicely decorated and with good taste. Excellent breakfast with magnificent view over Åre. Walking distance to the center but note: it is quite an uphill back😁
