We have had a most relaxing afternoon by the pool after walking the Camino .The hostess was super friendly and accommodating to all our requests. Also she arranged and drove us to the local restaurant where we have had one of the meals that we had in Portugal. We would definitely stay here again.

Valença is a lovely town half of which is still inside the fortifications. The restaurants and shops are friendly and accommodating the views from the fortress are beautiful. A word of "warning" the food is amazing and the portions HUGE!

Loads of shops selling linen, towels and leather handbags.
Loads of shops selling linen, towels and leather handbags. restaurants a bit pushy but all part of the experience. If staying in the Pousada, hold your breath as you drive through the gateway, very very slowly!
Well, the location is perfect, right on the Camino route and across the road from the historic, mediaeval fort/ walled city. The reception staff were so helpful and friendly, offering restaurant advice and even printing something I needed.
The room was very spacious, with a balcony and a wonderful bath to soak in( lovely toiletries provided too). The buffet breakfast was the best so far, with a wide range of hot and cold food choices. A very busy hotel, but obviously because it is so good.
My favorite place I’ve stayed on the Camino! If you are crossing from the coastal route in caminha to the central route in valença/Tui this is the PERFECT place to stay! Ana and Pedro are wonderful hosts and have put so much care into their property. They offer a communal dinner for 10€ which was delicious and a wonderful opportunity to meet other pilgrims and feel the spirit of the Camino.
facilities were clean and excellent!!
We arrived before the posted check-in time but we were kindly accommodated by the man who plays cello who came in early to check us in and gave us the wonderful suggestion to visit Fortaleza, (the walled city) in Valenca, which was amazing. Enjoyed a delicious meal and bottle of wine for dinner and a generous, lovely breakfast in the morning. Our room had a view of the Roman bridge!
The first albergo in my life (started Camino in Valenca) was a great experience! I arrived late, but everything was well explained with a little notes evere where. From first moment - felt like home. It was clean, friendly kitchen, enouth place for myself; good bad with light, and electric outlet. In the morning I was very happy to start my Camino.
The location was outstanding. 15 min walk from the historical centre of Valença, 5 minut walk from the river rest area, 10 min walk from the shops. The unforgettable atmosphere in the old stone house situated in spacy green area. And wonderful, big and clean swimming-pool. Nice and calm place to rest on the route to Santiago de Compostela.
We had one of the best rooms, upstairs with a large balcony overlooking the river and Tui. Large room with a wall of windows, excellent views. Very comfortable. Very good breakfast, very attentive staff.
Great to be inside the castle walls at night when everyone else has gone. Driving inside the castle to the hotel was fun, too.
Host was gracious. Linens suburb. Access to kitchen and beautiful outdoor space. We made our own meal. Very close to Valenca and right off Camino. Used it as a time to reset and rest. Carlos made us feel at home and welcome like we had a friend Portugal and our own country estate. Welcomed with Port.
This is a gem in Valenca! Right in the old fort and on the Camino. So clean and smells amazing. No reception but received all the codes beforehand.
Kitchen has no stove but everything else you need.
Comfy bed, bright, modern.
I'm so glad we chose this location to have our rest day.
Excellent modern apartment in Valenca. Very convenient for getting luggage to or from the train station. Well stocked supermarket below apartments on street. Complimentary drinks, snacks and toiletries provided by host - thanks!
The Hotel is in the middle of the fort. Amazing location.
The room was great - we had view to the green side of the fort. Very quiet.
The room had new facilities and was immaculate.(room 7).
Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Excellent value for money. Friendly, helpful owner. He spoke good English. Plentiful buffet breakfast. Very good hot, strong coffee at breakfast. Free parking on site. Only about 7 mins drive to Valenca centre.
The room was modern and comfortable, the dinner was very good as well as the breakfast, and the staff was very kind. Another plus is that the hotel is located a few meters from the entrance to the Old City.
Very old and run down hotel. Breakfast was not very good. And they were late opening.
Room was stuffy and heat did not work very well.
Would have rather stayed closer to old fortress in Valenca

Great location, next to the Valenca fort and near restaurants including a wonderful Indian restaurant. Near Lidl. They let me check in an hour early which was very kind.
