The room we stayed in definitely had the wow factor, a real one off and unforgettable.
A very good breakfast was included, and we particularly enjoyed the choice of cereals, seeds etc. We had an evening meal in the restaurant too, which was very good.
The hotel is conveniently located, being in the heart of the town, but wasn't noisy. It was just a few minutes walk to our boat transfer to Spain.

Caminha, a fortified border town located at the mouth of the river Minho, where several battles were fought between Portugal and Spain, now has much more friendly relations with its neighbor , it is a nice place to stay a few days to discover the area, unfortunately the ferry that connects the two banks of the river, is out of service.

I have been taking holidays in Caminha for over 30 years so it is one of my favourite spots. The town is small and everything is in walking distance, packed with enough restaurant choices to keep you satisfied and very well fed. Around it there's plenty interesting things to see and places to visit, also more restaurants with more excellent food to enjoy. The proximity with Spain is also a bonus.

Great little town with a lots of culture and tradition.
Great little town with a lots of culture and tradition. As a pilgrim, there were not so many places to stay, but I met some lovely people there. I loved walking along the river Minho, beautiful landscape, fascinating architecture. It's a quiet town that is located on the riverbank of Rio Minho and you can cross the river by ferry to Spain.

CAMINHA is a very attractive little town especially the old centre which has a lovely bustling square !
Many decent reasonably priced restaurants.
There are lovely clean beaches & super views across the River Minho to Spain !
Ideally located for walking on the beautiful unspoilt Serra da Arga or along the coastline.
Easy to nip across to Spain on the cheap ferry.
Good train service to other interesting places.
A lovely and lively hotel and restaurant. The room was elegantly furnished and the bed was comfortable with an attention grabbing view of the estuary and Spain. The bathroom was similarly good with (very) hot water that didn't run out. We slept well.
They provided us with a safe place to keep our bikes overnight, which not all places will do and the food in the restaurant was excellent and reasonably priced - we paid €50 for two of us and were both very full - and they offered an excellent variety of wines.
Obrigado.
The room was a total surprise - a big room with jakuzzi overlooking the bay! A champagne in the room! Outstanding start!
The indoor and outdoor pools are great.
Perfect location on the bay with nice woods and walks!
Outstanding bar and lunch with tasty burgers
Great place for swimming and family vacation
Overall a great hotel for 1-2 nights in a perfect remote place near Spain border and the bay!

Not too crowded even in August
The location was perfect, right next to the river with the old water mill still running. The room was great and the bathroom was beautiful. Plenty of garden space to relax in The staff were super friendly and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Look forward to staying again in the future!
The apartment is beautiful, bright, spacious, and inviting! It is along the Camino route, a block from the water, and close to cafes, bars, and restaurants. The owners are warm, welcoming, very responsive, and kind! The bedrooms are beautiful and the dining / living room spacious and comfy.
