Warkworth Country House, hotel in Warkworth

Set on 2 acres of lovely gardens, Warkworth Country House features free WiFi and rooms with a patio.

The room was incredibly clean, very peaceful and quiet. We had a small patio where we drank our coffee before breakfast. There wasn't anything not to like about the breakfast!! There were so many choices, cooked to order and incredibly fresh. The yogurt was homemade (some of the best I've ever had) and a lot of the fruit was grown on or very near their property. Our hosts were not the least bit intrusive, and they worked so hard to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. They had excellent suggestions for things to do and places to see in the area. We arrived as strangers and left two days later as friends.

Warkworth Lodge, hotel in Warkworth

Boasting an outdoor swimming pool with spa pool, Warkworth Lodge is a 3.5-star boutique motel just 5 minutes’ walk from cafes, restaurants, shops and the Mahurangi River.

Loved the location of the lodge in Warkworth close to everything. Lovely pool bbq area (bit of a downer that we didnt have a hot day as I was looking forward to a swim in the pool). The staff member that greeted us was wonderful. She had a lovely manner, friendly and explained everything including showing us where all the facilities were.

Renovated in October 2016, Bridgehouse Lodge overlooks the Mahurangi River, an 8-minute drive from Matakana Coast Wine Country.

The location in center of town, near restaurants and the river walk is nice. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The restaurant served up excellent food, and we enjoyed our meal there.

We were in Warkworth for "Warkworth Walks" a three day weekend of walking around Warkworth and outer regions. A large Annual event unfortunately it is not advertised to the local businesses and many of the shops were closed. This event has been occuring in November for the last 14years and some of the locals are still unaware of it.

Pleasantly surprised by the number of shops, cafe and restaurants including a countdown nearby. Would definitely visit again rather than passing through. The chocolate brown cafe was amazing for breakfast, brunch or lunch. The Warkworth hotel was nice for a drink or meal and the many other restaurants nearby which was nice. Can easily venture up to Matakana or Omaha by driving in around 10 mins which is handy too. Highly recommended !

Warkworth offers genuine country hospitality, great shopping, art galleries, an historic hotel and numerous cafes, all set in a gentil village situated alongside a winding river, dappled with beautiful green trees.

We had a lovely time as usual. Lovely cafes, shops and scenery. My smiley face review did not reflect our feelings about the Warkworth Lodge - the staff are lovely and this is the 3rd time we have stayed there. Julie

A perfect place to stay and chill out, away from big city noise. The beautiful, parklike setting of the village beside the river is perfect. Early century buildings and interesting shopping, galleries and cafes combine to present a gentil village atmosphere. Beaches and boating are nearby at Sandspit or try Omaha Beach for a swim. I recommend the coffee and cake at Chocolate Brown.👍

Convenient and met our needs at the time for our quick stay.

Convenient and met our needs at the time for our quick stay. A little pricey I felt for the 2 rms we had but was grateful as we were a late night booking with a puppy. Staff offered other options and we're very friendly, accommodating and generous offering blankets for our pup and letting her off paying her fee.

I loved my stay! The cottage is so cute and very cosy. The grounds are beautiful - I walked around in borrowed gumboots and enjoyed all the trees and incredible bird live. The hosts are that perfect balance of super welcoming and helpful (such good people!) but also allowing one to enjoy the property freely and privately. The location is just excellent - actually even better than I thought when I booked it. It's just so handy to everything in the whole Matakana area including Tawharanui.

Warkworth Country House bed and breakfast was a wonderful place to stay. We received a very warm welcome from Allan and Linley on arrival and shown to our room overlooking their beautiful gardens. The room was very clean, tastefully decorated with a lovely comfortable bed. That evening we sat on the deck and listened to all the beautiful birdsong and enjoyed a wine. Breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed meeting other guests to hear of their travels.

It’s so well thought through, everything I could want was there. Much more homely, relaxing and inspirational than a hotel or motel. The heaters were on so it was cosy, watching tv on the couch with a blanket or in a cosy bed with extra treats in the fridge to eat. A wide range of teas and coffees to drink plus a delicious breakfast. Extremely well presented and caring hosts.

Host met us and showed us around. Charming historical cottage. Kitchen generously supplied with teas and coffee, milk and a good selection of breakfast items, plus fruit. Very cosy, heaters/electric blanket/hot water bottles. Lovely rural setting for short walks. Everything we needed and a great location not far from Warkworth. Especially liked the friendly host.

The cottage is a little gem. Beautifully decorated with a stunning garden. Bed was so comfy and the location is so handy tp Warkworth and Matakana. Pete made us the yummiest breakfast it was so good we forgot to take a picture. Pete and Annie made the cottage feel so welcome with little extra touches of chocolates, juice and goodies we didn't want to leave.

On the first day we arrived in New Zealand, we stayed in Warkworth for one night. This is well-appointed and great value temporary accommodation, not to mention a fantastic garden dinner. Happily, there is a capsule coffee machine with sucrose, which is a very enjoyable Peter& Annie homemade breakfast

The tree covered park view from the property is brilliant - while it looks back over Warkworth, you can't actually see the town due to Parry Kauri park being in front. Size of room and comfort of bed was great WiFi worked well.
