A quiet, peaceful location. Host was welcoming and friendly. Everything we needed, and more, was supplied in our accommodation. Fantastic internet reception with a good variety of viewing options. Breakfast was more than we were expecting. Highly recommend. We'll certainly stay here again 😊

It was a large, well furnished unit with a nice treed patio area. It offered a very inexpensive laundry facility for guests. Good price point and more than we expected.

It was great to be staying at a rural B&B in such an attractive location. The host Leah was very welcoming and has obviously added personal touches of her own. Home baking and preserves are always welcome! We would love to return for a longer stay

Taihape is a quaint quiet country town. The locals are a friendly lot and like to have a chat. I didn’t venture out much during my 2 days there but when I did,it was relatively easier to find my way around. The only disappointment I had was there was only one takeaways open in the afternoon/evening.(Chinese),fortunately New Worlds is handy.

It was a great place to stop for the night. We had takeaways for dinner. Visited the giant gumboot at night - the spotlights were on and the kids loved it. We had breakfast at Brown Sugar, which was nice. Then we were on our way to the rest of our holiday.

A lovely little old town which we usually transit at on our way down south.
The little town has all sorts of amenities including good supermarket and a few good cafes with at least two very good restaurants as well. There are a number of motels within the town and situated along the main highway. There are two large petrol stations, including one large BP petrol station.
We believe that Taihape may also be a stop for the main-line Auckland to Wellington Railway... there is certainly quite a large railway station at the top of the town.

Taihape is a lovely place to take family and participate in the gumboot throwing and picnics in the park. Swimming in Rangitikei river is amazing your family will love it too. It has everything you need like New World, Mobil gas station and a Mac Donalds for the grand children. The ranges and the landscape is deep and rich with so much history.
The breakfast was excellent with choice of cereals, fruit, jam selection, toast, home made muffins and a range of teas and coffee. Nice crockery. Good table and chairs and outdoor seating. The area was peaceful and easy to drive to the property and park vehicle. A short distance from Taihape township with sheep and cattle nearby. No stairs to climb. Real NZ countryside. Owner was friendly and helpful. Nicely decorated inside and spacious bathroom, well presented.
Taihape is a small town and we were very happy to find a nice place to stay. Jolande and Daniel are great hosts and we felt welcome from the first minute. The accommodation is great, the bed is comfortable and there is a nice TV room and spacious bathroom. Breakfast (of our choice) was included and Jolande makes a yummy home-made sourdough bread.
In short walking distance are the famous gumboot for selfies and a fantastic steak restaurant, you will not regret to visit.
The Coachman has been a favourite of my wife and I over many many years whenever we travel North from Wellington. We have always found the motel friendly and operated by helpful staff. Close to town. We were very pleased to see that the great old 'Gumboot Manor Restaurant' which had closed some time ago, has found new ownership and re-opened as a great looking restaurant under a new name. It is only a couple of minutes walk from the Coachman
Thoughtful touches like the little packet of soaps on each bed. The lovely variety of healthy food for breakfast. Night light in the bathroom. Lovely warm apartment when we arrived. Jan provided recommendation for a fantastic florist Blush in Taihape who delivered a gorgeous bunch of flowers for my birthday girl. Easy to find. Well signed. Easy parking. Private.
Your service is really really pathetic. You should check with the hotel and check the dates that you have booked you have booked with hotel. It was a last minute decision to stop in Taihape on our way from Rotorua to Wellington, and we found a little gem in The White House Taihape. Such a lovely, charming and well appointed space, put together with such love and care. Moira was most welcoming and helpful. We could easily have stayed longer.
Who would ever of thought? A hidden treasure in Taihape.

Comfortable clean all conveniences.. location? Well it is Taihape 5mina to anywhere lol
Thank you Moria.
The room was big enough for two adults to move around comfortably. The television was a decent size as well, so you could watch it from the bed and not be squinting. The hotelier was delightful and so efficient. The beds were warm and had electric blankets if you needed.
We loved everything in our stay here!
The design felt like a boutique hotel,
The breakfast was great,
Having a tv nook allowed us to finally enjoying tv from the sofa and not from the phone as we are the the road.
The room was absolutely huge! Everything was clean and easy to use. We had to change plans at the last minute due to road closures to Napier, and this hotel was available. Right next to a very good restaurant.
Situated on the hill above Taihape it is an interesting drive up the hill. Moira sent us excellent directions. The view did not disappoint. The beds were super comfortable. A lovely quiet place to stay.
Well above average for a small town motel. Good kitchenette. Comfortable with friendly and helpful manager. Taihape was surprisingly interesting place for what was for us just a highway stop.
Friendly staff and locals
The hotel is very old the room was basic but the price paid for it was perfect
Less than 3 hours from Wellington makes it a great place for a 1 night stop
