We had a really large room with a king size bed, 2 comfortable side chairs, a small 2 seater dining table and a kitchenette including an electric skillet. Bed comfy and plenty of hot water.
John, the owner, even left us cookies and milk - which were delicious. Motel is in a quiet area just on outskirts of Geraldine.

A lovely relaxing small town to stop and stay in to break up journey if travelling between Queenstown and Christchurch - family friendly, everything in walking distance, nice cycleways, Barkers of Geraldine cafe and store is amazing too.

Pretty place in all seasons.
Pretty place in all seasons. Has interesting museums to visit. (And a gin distillery) Unfortunately as we stayed overnight on a Sunday all the museums we were looking forward to were closed on a Monday. The Gin distillery was also closed due to unforeseen circumstances. Shopping and browsing in shops was a delight. Apart from one very brusque retail assistant in The Page and Post Booksellers, everyone else we encountered in shops and art galleries was friendly, welcoming and made the experience a pleasant one. Special shout-out to the lovely hairdresser who agreed to cut my husbands hair without a booking!

Since leaving Oldfields in Geraldine, my husband realises...
Since leaving Oldfields in Geraldine, my husband realises that he has lost his prescription sunglasses and as Oldfields was our last accommodation in NZ, he is enquiring if he left these glasses at the property?
Could you please enquire on his behalf it that is the case.
We do not have owners Sue and John Jensen’s email address so we cannot contact them directly.
You assistance would be appreciated.

Geraldine is a charming small town.
Geraldine is a charming small town. Check out Barker's Food Store and the Susan Badcock Gallery over the old Post Office. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and the Peel Forest and its area of unspoiled native bush is a treasure, especially for its native bird life and 1,000 year old trees. There are many delightful restaurants and cafe´s in the area. Try the Cafe´Verde in Geraldine or the Woodbury Store Cafe´. Both are excellent. Geraldine is definitely a place to stop for a couple of days if you like mountain biking or hiking.

What a lovely wee town.
What a lovely wee town. I spent some time there because of family history reasons. Did some day trips to coast & surrounds, as well as some walking. The people were very friendly & helpful. Lovely quiet place to stay. Didn't really trial any restaurants apart from the Crowne Hotel where I stayed, & that didn't suit my palate.

The motel was great, I was on my way to Wanaka but wanted to break the journey and watch the All Blacks. I did that and the hosts assisted me given I was running late and I enjoyed a big brunch in mid morning just up the road which was great. So a fleeting visit but most enjoyable stay in Geraldine.
The Manor really was a manor! It has been tastefully decorated and is set in lovely well maintained grounds. The breakfast was cereals, toast and Barker's jams all served in a lovely room overlooking Geraldine. A little snack was left for me as I arrived late. Very much appreciated. Julie has added little touches everywhere and the result is quite something. The bed is very comfortable and whilst the accommodation is a bit of a walk to town, the upside is that it is very quiet and the birdsong is lovely in the morning.
Where do we begin. The home is quiet, the master suite was spotless, modern, clean, and private. The host and hostess were gracious, friendly, accommodating and made us feel at home in Geraldine. We had only one night, but could have spent several more if we had the chance. The landscaping of the grounds made this place a paradise. The furry animals that roam the place added a nice homey touchy. Loved River and Misty! We would return to this hidden gem of a place.
This place is absolute paradise. Quiet, private and beautiful beyond compare. Just remembering my time here makes me well up with happy tears. I don't think I have ever been so relaxed than as during the nights I stayed at Nga Whare Manatu. This was the best location I stayed at in all of New Zealand and I just can't say enough positive stuff about this place. It sounds ridiculous but you'll go and you'll see and you'll say, "Oh, I get it."
Extremely happy with what was provided, we came in very late and checked out very early but they provided everything we needed and more. In some towns, we probably would've been kicked out (or not let in). I've never seen such great attitude and understanding from a host elsewhere in New Zealand. It may not be the fanciest or flashiest of hotels, but the service you get here trumps everything else. Again thank you for hosting us.
This was an exceptional stay. Lovely welcome hosts. We had absolutely everything we needed. The accomodations is spotlessly clean and comfortable and in a great location for walking into Geraldine.
Sue cooked us a delicious breakfast in the morning.
Very well located with only 5 minutes walk to the town. Our two bedroom motel had plenty of space for up to 6 people,
a Queen bedroom down stairs, and a Queen bed with two singles upstairs. The price would make it very economical for a family.
Friendly welcome, late checkout allowed. Good location for exploring Geraldine - friendly dog! Guest laundry available. Not found in other stays. Well kept garden and seating areas and everything necessary was provided in the units.
A beautiful serene location on the perimeter of Geraldine with spectacular views of the countryside & a magnificent garden. Delightful & engaging hosts plus the room & bathroom were both incredibly spacious
Handy to Geraldine, set in amongst mature trees shrubs and gardens.
Their black Cat Baz was a perfect addition to our stay and we especially enjoyed his little visits and cuddles he afforded us.
It was quiet and not in the middle of Geraldine but only a few minutes by car. Breakfast was amazing and our hosts were kind and helpful with local amenities.
