It's a nice historical and religious place.
It's a nice historical and religious place. Very charming archeological sites, many modern nicely crafted temples and a very peaceful pleasant place for relaxation and meditation. I loved the place very much.

The place is crawling with poor street kids begging for food. All the money for a school and other needs have been wasted on some long and pointless brick walkway to the Maya Devi Temple and beyond. It's just another one of those misguided UNESCO projects typical of Western NGO thinking. The heat and lack of water is turning Lumbini into a scorched landscape of poverty and social misery. Its all about trying to turn the birth-site of Buddha into a tourist dependent dollar economy. Hopeless.

The temple complex at the birthplace of Buddha was really gigantic and definitely worth a visit. There was nothing else to see in the area a and for this reason it is only worthwhile to be there for a few days.

The only attraction Lumbini has is the complex with Holy Garden, New village with Peace pagoda and Monastries- very interesting and definitely worth visiting. I missed some extra information about architecture, why the canal was built etc. There was a museum which has been closed since Covid-pandemie, but I don't know if the content would have answered my questions. There are no information in the village available.

The Sacred Garden is magnificent, but Lumbini itself is a a small place with little else to do and is now, probably due to pandemic, a town full of construction to buildings and roads and quite a few beggars.
If you visit, stay for max of 2 days and outside of the town. The price of return flights if you are a foreigner means a trip to Lumbini can be an expensive couple of days.
Nice small, comfortable, clean guesthouse in the center of Lumbini near one of the entry gates to the Maya Devi temple. What made my stay special however was the wonderful hospitality extended to guests by the family who owns and operates the property. My stay fell during Diwali and I along with the other guests was invited to join the family during their ritual, partake in the traditional food and got a deep appreciation for Nepali culture and hospitality, for which I am deeply grateful.
Family run hotel. clean and good rooms. very good location near the main temple. very friendly and helpful staff. and the owner got up at 5.30 in the morning to prepare us a freshly cooked (and delicious) omelet sandwich for our bus ride. not many hotels back home would offer such a service. thanks again ;-)
Great location just 100m to mayadevi temple and all spots. Rooms are clean and hotwater with ac and tv. All good. Mgr uhsan was very friendly and cooperative and they even arrange taxi at market rates. I will recommend for family friends and solo.
The location was great - between Gates 4 and 5. The manager and his team were super helpful. The manager and one of his staff even got up before 7”6am to ensure that the bus they had booked for me actually stopped at the hotel to pick me up.
This Hotel is well situated, very close to Lumbini park gate no 5 and the market street no 1 (two minutes walk).
It is a bit remote from the main hub in a quiet area.
Staff is nice and helpful.
The hotel responded to our expectations, the staff was very friendly, the rooms comfy, spacious and clean.
Nice food (buffet), good variation in vegetarian food.
Easy parking, helpful staff
Very friendly staff! We were served a good breakfast even on the day we had to leave early (5:30). The manager told us, that the bus would pass the hotel and that he‘d flag it down. He did!
