We really like this place and enjoy our stay here. Good value for money. All we needed, we could find it. The kitchen was very well equipped. A big plus for having washing machine, clothes dryer and iron. Bed and sofa bed were comfy. Apartament was clean and big enough for four people. Area is beautiful and quiet and free parking available. We enjoyed the stay a lot!

View, garden and and location was perfect. The house was clean. The main components in the house were enough like sofa, chairs, blankets and design of the house was nice. His advice to visit some places was so helpful. He sent some locations to see and take photos that we did not meet on internet.

Pulpit Rock Hostel Vaulali, hotel in Jørpeland

Situated in Tau, 31 km from Stavanger City Hall, Pulpit Rock Hostel Vaulali features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace.

It may seem a bit strange the feeling I kept about this location. It is a basic accommodation. It has a very old history (more than two centuries, if I remember well). Our room had 5 bunk beds. The place was not impecabilly clean. The weather was nasty. But, somehow, the whole picture gave me a very fresh impression... some memories of youth... a scent of good times long gone. There is plenty of free space. There is mountain, forest, lake and meadows. You can choose even a tent, if you want. It is a place where people can gather, feel closer one each other. Where rain means a movie wathced in an old style cinema hall. Where stories are tell and plans about the future are easier to see. Where two stil young pianos are somehow taking care of a third one, much too old to be able to sing. A place where I would like to come back. And an excellent base for Pulpit Rock ... it's a must see in a lifetime

We hiked to Preikestolen from the carpark.

We hiked to Preikestolen from the carpark. My husband and I are both 65 and even though there is a lot of uneven tracks and rocks and some steep sections, if you take your time and have plenty of breaks you will be well and truely rewarded by some amazing scenery. I felt I was really in Norway when I reached some of the view points. Even though it was raining when we started the walk, it did clear and by the time we made it to Pulpit Rock the sun was shining. We were also lucky that there were not many people there on that day!! About 60? Took us about 5 1/2 hours to do the return trip with plenty of stops for admiring the views and lunch.. Well worth the sore legs the next day!!!

Jørpeland was a very quiet town.

Jørpeland was a very quiet town. Quaint and authentic, but not many dining options for those looking for a meal and a drink. But, for those who are looking for an access point to the great outdoors, it is great! The trails and people were wonderful.

About the only thing i liked about this place is the location, the trail starts from the hotel so if you start early at 5:30 or 6:00 (which is the time you should start this hike) it becomes very convenient. The only alternative in this location is a campground near by so basically this hotel is a monopoly and it acts like one, with high prices and lousy services. The building seems fairly new and is well kept, the room has nice view but it very small. If not for the convenient location i would never stay in such hotel.

A cozy and cute family-owned and operated hotel in Jørpeland, very close to the Jørpelands river waterfall and walking distance to the Jørpelandsholmen and the Solspeilet. Staff is super helpful and accommodating - we even received a free room upgrade for me and my wife on our honeymoon trip :) The view from the family room was awesome (see pic attached). It was a picturesque hotel with a wholesome atmosphere, accessible to people on wheelchairs. Also the parking place is highly appreciated :)

I missed my flight, so I arrived very late at the hotel, after midnight! The owners of the house were very kind and kept in touch with me through messages and emails.. They left me the key to the room so that I could enter independently... The service was excellent and kind! The room is really small, but with a shower and toilet inside. The breakfast was good. There is parking for cars and a beautiful view! Also, the hotel is really close to pulpit rock, recommended..

The hotel's location is excellent, right at the starting point of the Trolltunga hiking trail, and they offer free parking for guests. This was the only hotel we booked with breakfast on our trip to Norway, and the breakfast was quite generous. Staying at the hotel had a significant advantage as we were able to hike to Trolltunga twice, once on the first afternoon and again on the second morning, of course, thanks to the good weather.

The hotel and room were really clean. There was a lift which was helpful for our bags as we were on the 3rd floor. We had a triple room which, in hindsight, was a bit cramped with a grown son, but we only stayed the 1 night so we could hike Preikestollen, so it suited our purpose. The breakfast was varied and really very good. It was right by the harbour and easy walking distance to restaurants and grocery shops.

I stayed in a nest/tent. Loved it! There is heating and usb ports inside for charging your phone etc. There's also a communal tent with a fridge and freezer which is a bonus. Excellent location, beautiful surroundings. Good breakfast in the main hotel. Remember to bring your own sleeping bag if you're planning on staying in the nest.

No regrets about choosing this fantastic place! The location is excellent, the hotel is cozy and the staff is so welcome and lovely! I went there for my partner's birthday and we had a free dessert from the staff! This gesture was very kind! We will certainly come back :) Big thanks to the kitchen staff** We love the food :)

The hotel standard was even better than we expected. Very nice staff that even spoke some german, breakfast was very good especially for Norwegian conditions, free parking directly at the hotel or also for free nearby. Absolutely recommended place where we could have even stayed a bit longer and very good value for it's price.

It was a brilliant stay at “Modern Apartment in the Harbour of Jørpeland”. Simply perfect! Great location, lovely atmosphere in the city, 3 min walk to 3 supermarkets. 12 min driving from the natural wonder of Norway - Pulpit Rock. I can without hesitation recommend this place.

Proximity to the trail, beautiful location on a lake, simplicity of ghe hotel, yet spaciousness - the rooms are on a small side (at least, if you travel with kids), but lots of common places.
