The cabin is huge - practically a holiday house with 3 bedrooms, a big kitchen, living room and eating area.
fully equipped kitchen (although missing a cutting board) with a dishwasher, as well as an outside grill that the owners can help supply wood for it.
The area itself is incredible - driving nearby a turquoise lake on the way, while surrounded by a beautiful fjord and glaciers, with 2 glacier tongues visible well from the cabin, and one of them reachable through a 45 min hike to a nearby hill (recommended by the owner).
The owners also have a small restaurant to serves dinner - although we didn't eat there, the menu looked very good and the prices were more than affordable.
Set a 30-minute hike from the Briksdal Glacier, this mountain lodge offers rooms and cottages with traditional décor and free Wi-Fi access. Stryn village centre is 38 km away.

The grey-green glacial river, the peacefulness, the air, the water, the welcome of Astrid with caring explanations and pride in her lovely camping. I will be back but for longer...

We were warmly welcomed with a short guided tour and an introduction to the history of the house before heading to our room. It was strange at first to imagine staying in a museum for the night, you feel the need to be extra careful and respectful but the experience was unique though it's not everyone's taste. The setting is very pleasant, calm and green, the staff very friendly and the breakfast was excellent with a lovely view and homemade waffles. From the house you can reach the fjord by foot. As it is not easy to find a restaurant nearby (especially if you don't have a car), we had planned ahead an organized a little picnic in front of the fjord. I would recommend the experience but rather for a shorter stay.
