About 30 min walk from the city center (a bus line is also an option). The room was nice and clean, industrial style interior design. A comfy bed, breakfast a la carte gives a feeling of a real restaurant experience. We liked the fact that the hotel was run by the students of the hotel school, extra polite and obviously well-taught. A prior dinner reservation at the hotel restaurant is required (a nice menu for a more than a reasonable price). Therefore we couldn't dine there on the evening of arrival, which is understandable.
Situated on the edge of Leeuwarden's city centre, WestCord WTC Hotel Leeuwarden is directly connected to the WTC Expo and located next to Holland Casino Leeuwarden. Free WiFi access is available.

The staff! Always helpful and with a smile on their faces! Wow what a great advertisement for Friesland...Brabant hotels should come here to train ;). The breakfast was excellent, best cooked eggs. The room was large and clean and had a bath. Hotel was lovely and quiet.

The room was quiet, I liked the balcony. It was right across the street from the train station which was great as I didn't have to drag my luggage too far. It was also close to the centre, restaurants, movie theatre.

Jelsum is a nice quite little village near the capital of Friesland Leeuwarden. By car or public transport (bus) it is only 15 minutes to the interesting cosy centre of Leeuwarden, a city with a very nice ambiance, canals, lots of nice shops, cafe's and restaurants. Jelsum isn't far from the ferries to the beautiful islands in the north, good for a day trip or longer. Jelsum is also a good starting point to ride bicycle through the country side of this part of Friesland with its nice little villages and juicy green landscape.
