    We really liked the city.

We really liked the city. You need to understand the bus situation and we tried, bought bus passes, tried using them but they were not coded the way our phone was displaying so we ended up using taxi service for all of our visitations to museums, central, restaurants, etc. It wasn't expensive but much more than the simple bus or combi travel would have been. Merida has lots to offer, especially with tours outside of the city, a bus trip to the beach in Progresso for 25 pesos each way, very cheap, cenotes, pyramids, on and on!

Merida is a big, historic, busy city surrounded by Mayan ruins, historic haciendas and beautiful cenotes. The Merida restaurant scene has everything from chef owned culinary gems to family run taco shops. There are many excellent tour guides available for in-depth exploration of the city and surroundings or one can do so on their own using public transportation or with a rental car.

The free breakfast was wonderful. The pool was lovely on a hot afternoon. The wifi worked well. The bed was comfortable. The shower was great - good water pressure and hot water that lasted - a first for me on the trip throughout Mexico! The free shuttle to the airport was appreciated and went well. Hosts responded to questions and concerns promptly via WhatApp. Hosts were wonderful. Access to free coffee, tea, water etc throughout day. Multiple lovely common and garden areas to relax or work all with Wifi. Good AC. Quiet for sleep.

The rooms are big and the balcony too. The roof terrace bar just opened when I arrived and the view is amazing, on top of that you are allowed to smoke there, which is a huge plus in a country like Mexico where smokers are usually banned even from open-air spaces. The Star Medica hospital is just across the street, which was the reason for my visit to this area. And a nice mall is also very close, as well as a convenience store just next to the hotel. Internet was great! So everything you need for remote work or just in general.

Excellent place. It is actually a B & B, but with 4 star rooms. The shower was one of the best out of 25 hotels we've stayed in Mexico. Beds were good and the place was very clean. Although in the center of town, it is really quite. We loved the patio, and as it also had super internet we spent a lot of time there to just relax and catch up on our online work. Leo and his lovely wife are great hosts. The location is right in downtown, but it was easy to park our car in front of the hotel.

Not the best location but not the worst. 8 to 10 minute walk to Central. Free water in the lobby to fill your water bottle. This is so important and I don't know why more places in Mexico don't do it it is so incredibly hot. A couple of the staff members were nice. The most incredibly comfortable bed I've slept in in many months. Along with fantastic pillows and towels. The bed is the only reason I stayed multiple nights.
