A historical, well preserved old city in the middle of Kurzeme. Well worth the new status on UNESCO world heritage list. The waterfall Ventas rumbas is impressive, not for it height, but for its width.

A must-have visit for tourists who come to Latvia and have extra time to get further away from the capital (2h drive). The city is well-renovated while keeping the oldschool charm. Restautants, shops, and nice people.
The nature around if beautiful. Kuldiga has the widest waterfall in Europe (widest, not highest :))

Kuldiga is an attractive ancient town filled with cobble stone streets and wooden buildings. The old town is rather compact and hence easily seen on foot. There are plentiful food outlets and pubs serving reasonably priced food and beer. We ate at Marmalades on Pasta iela (street) several times as it had good home-made food at a reasonable price. 20 to 30+ year olds seem to have a good command of English and were happy to answer questions or give directions. We enjoyed the relaxed vibe by day and felt safe wandering the streets at night - its light until about 11.00pm!

It combined fine dining with relatively tourist free (maybe in August there aren’t many tourists there anymore) town. The old buildings in the centre are almost exclusively protected and only renovated from the inside. Kuldiga is covered with flowers to decorate the old buildings. There are many bridges and obviously the red brick bridge is stunning. I also cannot not mention the widest waterfall in Europe. Crossing it is a must and I certainly did. Mind you, even though the water only reaches your knees at its deepest, the current tries to grab you along and the algae makes the stones slippery. I must admit I accidentally went swimming fully clothed!

Very nice, cozy town.
Very nice, cozy town. Surprisingly good food at local restaurants, catering to different tastes. Due to small number of restaurants, it is advisable to book the table in advance, especially during mass events.
Ventas Rumba is the best place where to spend hot summer days. Few after-dinner walks around city center is enough to see all the historic buildings. For additional (interesting) info just take guided tour, it is worth it. Additional places of interest are just short trip away, especially suited for those on bicycles.
P.S. Kuldiga is a small town, no nightlife whatsoever.
Everything was great :)
➕ Location: in the middle of city, close to the majority of touristic attractions (Ventas rumba, old city, bridge) + walking distance from bus stop, shops and restaurants.
➕ Room: clean, spacious, very comfortable bed, good sound proofing, TV with local channels, light covering curtains.
➕ Bathroom: clean, private, provided soap/gel shower(not a good one, but still), 4 towels
➕ Staff: friendly and professional.
Compliments: candies with hotel logo (tasty caramel)
Highly recommended :)
The apartment was fantastically beautiful, located in the heart of Kuldīga (literally just a few minutes away from all the nice spots, venues, main street, etc). It was very unique and antique which we loved as it gave the lovely city of Kuldīga an even nicer and more authentic feel. Everything we needed was there, starting from towels, toiletries, and coffee. Will definitely visit again!
the most charming place I have been in the whole northern Europe. Would be Ideal for writing or creative work!
Very central location but quiet room. VERY old building, much more archaic than it looks like in the pictures.
The town of Kuldiga was an absolute surprise, my new favourite in the whole Baltic region!
But I do not recommend it, so tourism will not spoil it ;)
One could really feel the care to details of the owners. A burning candle in the corner of the yard, Latvian poets books and other cool design elements - so much adding to the general mood of the romantic, beautiful town Kuldiga. Great facilities, cleanness, value for price. Kuldiga is small, so all the sightseeing, restaurants etc. in a walking distance.
The hotel was amazing. Great interior, fantastic staff. Room was designed beautifully. The only con was that the surroundings are not very scenic. However, the location is good, as it is only 15 min walk from Kuldiga city center. Hotel also provides bikes for their guests, which was amazing. The courtyard with hammocks was great.
The location of hotel is excellent, very heart of Kuldiga. I don't want to underrate this place in these harsh times. Breakfast was served portioned - not buffet. On the other hand - not much food left on plate and no option to overeat! Staff was very helpful in making scramble without milk products.
Everything was perfect starting from the owners Romans and Madara so nice and welcoming! We really enjoyed speaking with them!
The apartment is big and it has everything you need in addition very close to the amazing city of Kuldiga taking a stroll 🚶♀️ there will be for ever in our memory
The place is unique and fits with Kuldiga vibe. It was a nice and authentic stay with a river view! The design at the apartments had a lot of nice details!
Location was excelent. House is not modern but has its own aura. Everything nearby- cafes, shop, river. Owner was very welcoming.
Fantastic location in heart of old town in Kuldiga close to restaurants, museums and Ventas Rumba. Apartment is a very cozy and comfy with homey feel. Extremely well designed with beautiful finishing touches. Great host .... I would love to come back to this place
The rooms were very comfortable, easily hosted 2 travellers! Lovely space for a vacation! Great view from the rooms and the location was also perfect - 3-minute walk from Kuldīga's best restaurants.
Perfect location, right on the main shopping street leading to the central square and restaurants, free parking at the hotel, breakfast was enough with a big nice outdoor terrace.
Interior reflected Kuldīgas old town arhitecure and put in the right mood to start the holiday trip around Kuldīga.
In kitchen there were all that is needed to cook meals.
Place is clean, cozy and oozes historical charm. Facilities are new, there is a nice kitchen and friendly hosts. Very great location in historical center of Kuldiga.
