Angelo and Lucia were phenomenal hosts. The quaint beauty of the property was superb, extremely comfortable, and felt like you were part of their family. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. The views were gorgeous with a perfect sunset from the pool. Their hospitality was unmatched. If iI could rate higher, Villagio Imbesi would be the highest.

crossed over to Sicily. We had just arrived after a long drive from Bologna. We had a one night stay till we crossed over to Sicily. We found Andrea to be a gracious and personable host, non intrusive and happy to assist as he could. We stayed the evening and woke up to a continental breakfast with good coffee and conversation with Andrea. He was quick to apologize for the fact that his swimming pool was not useable at the time because of an unexpected leak that was impacting his house. Altogether the view, location and Andrea's personal attention impressed us greatly. We would stay here again.

The seafront area is really nice, with a great view across to Sicily and the Straits of Messina. We didn't find a lot of dining options down there, but there are apparently a couple of good restaurants in the neighbourhood. The traffic, as in all Italian towns and cities, is pretty frantic, and parking isn't easy at all, but it's worth a visit/stop en route to the ferry for Sicily, as it has quite a nice atmosphere and outlook.

Villa San Giovanni is a place of transit.
Villa San Giovanni is a place of transit. It is very small, not very pretty and when we were there, the "lungo mare" was still under construction. Villa San Giovanni is perfect as a base to go to another place, as the trains are well connected and easy but don't expect something from the city itself.

The Owner was amazing. She was so welcoming and really made it feel like home. While my wife and I don't speak any Italian and she speaks just a small amount of English we were able to communicate without much trouble at all.
The location was perfect for my wife and I as we were attending a wedding that was just 5 minutes away and it was just a 10 minute drive to the beaches in Scilla and 15 minutes to Reggio Calabria while being situated in an area that was quiet and peaceful with an amazing view of the Messina Strait and Sicily.
This was a very last minute booking as we arrived by ferry the night before we planned to ( we had a room booked across the bay in Messina but decided to leave sicily earlier that planned) The property was in a great location with a wonderful view. As we were last minute and the only guests, breakfast vouchers were provided for a wonderful cafe/bakery almost next door. The recommendation for dinner was excellent as well. Perfect place to stay for accessing the ferry.
This hotel is now freshly renovated (2023) so the rooms are fresh and inviting. Views are spectacular. Facilities excellent. Large terrace for drinks and meals, and beautiful views. You can easily visit Reggio Calabria from here (it's only a short drive away) and enjoy the atmosphere and relaxation after sightseeing. Beautiful sunsets, views of Stromboli and a lovely coastline to visit as well. If you are going to Sicily it's a 10 minute drive to the ferry.
B&B Paradise is just a 7-minute walk from the Villa San Giovanni train station, which was perfect for me because I was traveling by train. It's also not far from the water front. The room is small but is complete with AC and TV (I didn't use either), double bed, lights and plugs. In the shared kitchen are snacks and breakfast foods for you to help yourself to. You could also cook if you like. The shared bathroom is large and clean.
accommodations and breakfast were as expected. room was clean and comfortable. breakfast was at bar up the block but they had lots of options. this was the same bar that we picked up the keys. this went off with no problem at all. we booked this room specifically since it was across the street from the train station. we had come across from sicily the day before on the hydrofoil and were catching a train the next morning.
we stayed one night at this fantastic little hotel before going over t sicily. Would have liked to stay a few days here and explore the area and the beaches. Very helpful hostess with family. quiet location a bit from the beach. Beautiful garden and pool area. we were served the best meal we ate on the whole trip in the form of small local dishes. And the breakfast was very good!
The location is unusual, located as it is next to an electrical pylon. However, that should not deter visitors, as once in the property the pylon is not visible, and you have a great view across the Strait of Messina to Sicily. It is well-placed for visiting Scilla and Villa San Giovanni. The host is very affable and helpful, and the breakfast is good continental.
The property offered off-street parking, a truly valuable asset in this busy port town. We loved the generous welcome and variety of snacks and breakfast items provided by Tiziana and Emmanuele, our most gracious and friendly hosts. The apartment was spotlessly clean and tidy, and very comfortable for our overnight stop in Villa San Giovanni.
The location is close to Ferry to Sicily and you need to call to get access. The host is friendly. The room is comfortable and on 2nd floor, free parking is actually street parking and you need to find space by yourself. The breakfast is ordered from cross street store and they will deliver to your room.
Nice hotel located in the centre of the town close to the ferry port, 10 minutes by car. Spotless and clean room. For those who want to stay in the room, relaxing and beautiful views of Sicily from the balcony. Secure parking onsite and also garage available.
Great place for an overnight stay near the ferry and station. Very clean. Owner was most helpful and the hotel was set up to think of everything we might need. Good clean kitchen/dining room for self service breakfast which was well supplied. Thank you.
Hotel located less than 5 minute drive to ferry terminal for ferry to Sicily.

Secure off road parking for motorbike within locked gated yard area
Francesca, she is so helpful and can not do enough for you.
Mum came to visit me as I live in Italy, and I got invited to Breakfast even though I wasn't a customer of the hotel.
Absolutely incredible.
Quaint, lovely small hotel. Close to rail station. Easy access, with nice little balcony. Nice little breakfast, and other kitchen facilities. Lamps and PowerPoints near the bed.
Good location close to the ferry to Sicily. Although the one way system meant I had to drive out of the town and back in. Not the hotel's fault though.
