Hotel Miravalle is set right under the Tower of Frederick in the ancient square of the castle, facing San Miniato cathedral. This hotel features free WiFi throughout.

This hotel is directly on the Via Francigena. We had a spacious room although the bathroom was rather cramped and dated. Good view across the countryside. The biggest surprise was the excellent restaurant

Hotel San Miniato, hotel in San Romano

Hotel San Miniato is set in the medieval San Miniato, in the province of Pisa, near state road SS67. It offers elegant rooms with minibar and LCD TV.

The front desk staff at night was lovely - helpful and sweet. Only person on duty though, so lots of waiting was required. But she was great. The area is cute and hotel is clean.

Relais Sassa al Sole, hotel in San Romano

Boasting an outdoor pool, a spa centre and a garden, Relais Sassa al Sole offers accommodation on the Tuscan hills. San Miniato Train Station and city centre are both a 20-minute drive away.

A truly relaxing break in such a beautiful setting - the photos do not do it justice. Definitely a treat but worth the expense. Our room was lovely and we enjoyed all of the facilities: pool, spa, gardens, food / bar. Yes, the hotel kitchen only does breakfast and lunch but (1) there is a good bar menu to go with sundowners and (2) there are plenty of great restaurants nearby which the staff are happy to recommend / book. And their help is readily offered - we booked a cooking class and taxis through reception, and found everyone to be friendly and helpful. The hotel is isolated (which adds to its charm), so we would recommend hiring a car so that you're not limited to taxis and can take the odd day trip around Tuscany during your stay, to nearby San Miniato or even Lucca / Florence / Pisa / Livorno which are all within an hours' drive or so.
