Very nice hotel with a luxurious feeling just outside of town with a beach of its own.
Calm and relaxing location with very freindly and helpful staff.
Hotel Mistral is in the seaside town of Portoscuso, on Sardinia’s south west coast. There is internet access and staff can organise boat trips to the islands of Carloforte.

We travel a lot, but we have rarely experienced such a friendly, courteous and lovely host. Sara and Giuseppe organize everything so lovingly and service-oriented that you simply feel cared for and welcome. Anyone traveling to or through Portoscuso must stay at B&B L'Albero Dei Limoni.

We had a great stay. The hotel looks modernized. Beautiful decor! Valentina is very helpful. We received good tips about the area and she also offered her help in arranging a rental car. Thank you Valentina for taking good care!

Portoscuso is a nice small town of tuna fishermen.
Portoscuso is a nice small town of tuna fishermen. Offers a promenade along the coast, a marina and cruises to Carloforte on a small island of San Pietro. In the vicinity there is Porto Flavia - an extraordinary engineering solution 100 years old.

Portoscuso is a small town, outside the main tourist areas.
Portoscuso is a small town, outside the main tourist areas. The choice of restaurants is small, but even at the port "bistro" the food was absolutely great (except for the poor service). We didn't see a single cafe. There are bars, but more for locals. Generally not much to walk around the towns. However, the promenade along the coast, up to the large beach of Spiaggia di Portopaglietto is great, especially in the evening when it is lit up.
The very close industrial zone, chimneys and wind farms unfortunately take a lot away from the place. The approach to the town around this large complex is a bit depressing. However, fortunately without any negative effect on the quality and splendour of the sea.
Boat trips to caves are stunning.

One of my favourite beach towns in Sardinia.
One of my favourite beach towns in Sardinia. There's a lovely sea front, food is amazing and people are nice. Child/family friendly, good for couples and for young travellers alike. Easy to walk around the town and perfect location for taking the ferry to Carloforte and driving to nearby attractions (such as Masua, Porto Flavia, Mines in Carbonia and Iglesias,...).

Despite the proximity of the industrial complex at Portovesme ( the chimneys are visible from afar) Portoscuso itself is a pretty low key town with a couple of nice beaches which were not at all crowded when we visited. (Mid September). It’s a place mostly frequented by Italians.

Even though it is one of the less touristic places in Sardinia it offers a lot.
It is close to Pan di Zucchero and it is amazing going kayaking over there by kayak; we rented the kayak at Masua from Warug, and we visited both Pan di Zucchero and Grotta Sardinia.
It is also possible to see the mine Porto Flavia. and there is an amazing viewpoint at Nebida.
Portoscuso is on the trekking Santa Barbara also known as miniere nel blu. There are two islands to visit nearby.
There are several amazing beaches and a laguna for Kitesurf.
Everything positive I'd like to list here doesn't even fit. Everything was better than we expected, and you are always our highest expectations. Hotel beautifully renovated, room amenities 100% condition, perfectly cleaned. Breakfast on the terrace = divine :) and so we could go on. And the bedding absolutely fantastic, we immediately got the same one (no joke).
And the hotel staff is a chapter unto itself: They took incredible care of us the whole time, they were attentive and very helpful.
A beautiful place with a unique layout. The decorations added to the atmosphere. The whole interior was warm and inviting. We appreciated the easy self check-in. The breakfast buffet was great and our hostess was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed.
Location was very good as it was convenient to restaurants and parking. You should definitely consider staying there if you’re in Portoscuso. We wish we could have stayed longer.
The hotel is very nice. It was the largest room we encountered on our trip, with a large and modern bathroom. The room included part of a round, stone turret so it was more interesting than a square room. We did not use the pool or beach, but we could see the beach from our room. We did not eat breakfast here. It might be an excellent place to host a conference or family reunion.
Wonderful appartment on the top floor of a building in the center of Portoscuso, spacious, comfortable and practical. Close to harbour and restaurants. Great roof terrace all around with a view of the sea and the island of San Pietro, and of the hills behind the village. Very friendly and helpful owner.

A very nice hotel at the beach! It has a very nice swimming pool as well that was our favorite 🤩
The bar from the swimming pool was serving some sandwiches which was a good thing for eating lunch by the pool (restaurant was not open during our stay).
They really take care about guests! Daniele and Gianni gave us so many helpful infos, links.
Houses are spacious, clean, and it very easy to get to Portoscuso "a piedi" (on foot).
We had a great time there, it was so safe.
Everything, great location, spacious room and bathroom with beautiful sea view. Kind and friendly staff. Lovely breakfast. I will 100% go back when visiting portoscuso again in the future.
