A great immersion in a rinascimento fortress, the state of preservation is astonishing. It's the "only" thing to see, but a walk around the fortress can last a solid couple of hours, and you can walk back and forth the different defensive structure to try to understand their specific role in the city defense! I recommend a stay at the Hotel Ai Doggi, as per eating Al Gambero was a super friendly place!

Interesting city with special zoning. The city is an old military area and the map is like a star. We were pleased when we decided to come here. A pretty and friendly place to stay, with very friendly people and a good range of top value eating places and watering holes. Clise to Venice and with it’s own outlet village, I would highly recommend Palmanova - it’s a hidden gem.

The room was very clean and well equipped! We would not hesitate to stay there again should we return to Palmanova. During Covid restrictions the breakfast was in form of buffet but you needed to preselect which foods you wanted the evening before. Hotel has parking spaces in the next door church backyard.
