We had a wonderful time at the hotel, using it as our home base for day trips to Mount Etna and a nearby winery, as well as for leisurely days lounging by the pool. The breathtaking view of Mount Etna, surrounded by lush greenery and citrus trees, created a truly serene atmosphere. Our room was clean and well-maintained, ensuring a comfortable stay. Additionally, the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating throughout our stay.
Built in the 16th century, this palatial hotel is set amid exotic plants and citrus fields, on the slopes of the Mount Etna.

A lovely hotel with great facilities and very nice staff. They have a very good restaurant. We had a wonderful view of Etna from our balcony. After some stressful driving in Sicily we enjoyed two quiet days by the pool.

The owner, Salvatore, is a very friendly man, who provided us with excellent breakfasts (granita) and service in general during our stay. I honestly think that there aren't any better options to stay in this region if you would like to experience the classic Sicilian culture. Furthermore, the train station is close to the bed and breakfast, making it ideal to travel between Taormina and Siracusa.

Giarre is not a great tourist attraction.
Giarre is not a great tourist attraction. However it is a great center for touring East Sicily.
We found it very strange that Sicilians keep to their siesta even in winter. After sunset when it got very dark and a bit cold, we did not feel like going to a restaurant (they open at 6 or 7). So we cooked our dinners. Good for us, bad for them.

Quiet desolate place with nothing to do. Boring.
Quiet desolate place with nothing to do. Boring.
On the other hand, it mightbe idea for anyone looking for a quiet place out of the way to spend a few days doing nothing. Our place had a pool (against separate payment which we found odd as we were never asked to pay elswhere. Pool was open to kids so be aware of this.

Nice base if you would like to visit the Etna.
Nice base if you would like to visit the Etna. Also the coast is not far away and with half an hour with scooter you're in Giardini Naxos (which is also recommended if you like a fishers/seaside town with a nice beach).
We stayed over at Giarre the days after we came from Catania to travel further to Taormina. Giarre itself doesn't have much to offer for tourists, but it's nice to see the more local center with less tourism and less traffic. We stayed at Moni Rooms for two nights which I would recommend to everyone who wants to visit Giarre!
Real Dolce Vita feeling! This is how I could describe the week we spent here. The reception, the view, both towards Etna and Taormina, in the shade of the citrus trees with the fantastic cappuccino created by Andrea, it was simply heavenly. Lella outdid the impossible to prevent and solve any problem that arose, most notably a near Mission Impossible in relation to my daughter's health problem. Even next to the wonderful sights of Sicily, the greatest joy for me is that I got to know these two wonderful people!
Everything was excelent and even better than we expect. Host was really nice and kind. Refreshed few times all staff in refrigerator as water, ice tea etc. Also prepared surprice traditional cannoli rolls and offered us Limoncelo from his own until ours was cold enough. Also on breakfast he served us what we choose. Really nice bonus was access to the roof terrace with view on the see and Etna volcano. We can only recommed to others who wants to visit Giarre for good price and perfect service.
This is a superb small hotel, situated in a large orchard at the foot of Mount Etna. The room was fine--minimalist but large enough and with an excellent shower, but the reason to stay here is the outdoors. The pool is extraordinary, large enough for lap swimming and surrounded by comfortable lounge areas--and a terrific bar. And the restaurant is incredible: 2 star food in a 1 star setting (they're building a new restaurant facility on the property. We would return here in a heartbeat.
This place is amazing!!! It took a little bit of driving around to find it (it was raining) but once we drove through the gate you feel like in heaven. Complete oasis.
Everything was top notch: the rooms, grounds, restaurant but especially the staff. We are definitely coming back! Don’t pass by this place. You have to experience it!!! My husband and I drove through entire Sicily for 12 days, staying in a different hotel every night. This one was the best.
My family and I love the Etna hotel and this was our second visit in three years. The customer service is excellent, the facilities perfect for our requirements and the onsite restaurant an excellent choice if you don't fancy venturing offsite.
We were even offered a transfer to a larger room part way through our stay as the lady manageress felt that we would be more comfortable there.
It's a great place at a very reasonable price.

Casa Giulia is located in an accessible and great part of Giarre. The apartment I stayed in was wonderful. It was spacious, comfortable, very clean and was ideal for 1 or 2 people, it even included a washing machine which was great because I stayed for 20 days.
The hosts Jessica and Marco were friendly, lovely to chat to, helpful and nothing was too much of a bother.
Next time I am in Giarre I will definitely return to Casa Giulia.
A very nice hotel just off a main road in Giarre. I was visiting cousins in the area and this hotel was very convenient for them to meet me. A very beautiful restoration of an old farmhouse. Great views of Etna in the distance. The grounds are very park-like and there is plenty of free parking. The dinner restaurant on the hotel property was great. Although there was an additional charge, breakfast was very good and well worth it.
I personally recommend this property, we stayed for 3 nights and we enjoyed every single moment. The most important thing is that it’s very central and quiet place, the facilities are clean and work perfectly. The bed is comfortable and large. The bathroom modern and the shower works great. Next time we come to Giarre we are going to book the same property.
This was the nicest place I stayed in during my two weeks trip around Sicily. The place is so beautiful, modern peaceful and clean. It has everything you need to have a great time.
We had two balconies, sea view, access to washing machine… It’s half an hour drive from many hot spots like Taormina, Giardini di Naxos, Catania etc.
The property is an old school house but has the vibe and a beautiful view of the Etna. And to mention: Salvo was the coolest host we encountered in Sicily. In case we ever do make it back to Sicily it will be our first place to visit.
The location is excellent. Very quiet neighbourhood, absolutely safe within a residence called Kallipoli. Still, just a few minutes from the center of Giarre, and very close to the best touristic attractions (Taormina, Etna, etc.)
The host was really friendly and helpful. It was easy to communicate with despite the lack of a common language. Everything was clean and the kitchen was fully equipped. So far the best accommodation in Sicily.
Countryside boutique hotel with epic views of Etna Vulcano. Wonderful orchard. Breakfast made with care and local products. Big area around the hotel and pool with a bar.
Very beautiful location with great views of Giarre on one side, and mount Etna on the other from the terraces. Very good food options during dinner and welcoming hosts.
