The Sulfner exceeded our expectations - the location is exquisite, peaceful and picture-perfect surroundings while an easy drive from Bolzano and Merano. We stayed with two kids in a suite that was spacious and clean with lovely view. The meals, pool, and kids play room were huge hits. Will be returning.

5 days in avalegno would have been enough but we had 2 of those days travelling. So recommended time is 5 - 7 days for people like us who do not like to Jam Pack their days. Its is beautifully scenic and well maintained. Take note that the botanic gardens are closed in winter. Aditionally whilst places advertise the availability of renting all ski gear, no one rents snow shoes, pants or jackets, so plan to bring your own so as not to miss out on the fun.
The location of the hotel is amazing and the forest behind the hotel as well as the historical church right in front of the hotel are nice walking routes. Great variety of options and local product at breakfast. One of the best infinity pool and spa I have seen in my life. Onsen pool and sauna with a view was impressive. No music at sun decks is aslo something we appreciated. Its overall a very quiet hotel submerged in nature. Many ski and walking tracks overall in the area which the hotel staff was very helpful to guide us.
Me and my wife have travelled to many different continents, countries, and cities. We've also stayed at plenty of five star hotels. However - this is the only hotel, which has blown our expectations across the board for EVERYTHING.
Breakfast, Service, the staff, the rooms, the cleanliness, the amentities, the views - everything is absolutely immaculate. There were no flaws to note about for the hotel. The hotel literally made the our trip what it is (even though we snowboardde in the dolomites, that was cool too)
The stay at the hotel was extremely pleasant. The staff were friendly and helpful, the forest spa was excellent, food was great, the room was large, the view from the terrace was wonderful. The ski area right next to the hotel, ski in - ski out and also the ski storage room is excellent. Above all, I would like to thank you for the birthday surprise at dinner, really thoughtful of you! 🥰Thank you for an unforgettable winter fairy tale experience.
The hotel is great, in an outstanding location and there is an exit from it to an amazing forest trip, but the main thing is the staff who go above and beyond and make sure I feel as if I am the only guest in the hotel. An infinity pool and a clean and well-maintained spa. Great breakfast and 3 great restaurants with fine food. The hotel is managed in an exemplary manner and is highly recommended. Michael
beautiful hotel with amazing accommodations. staff was very friendly and helpful with mine and my children’s needs. The pool and slides for the kids were amazing. The indoor out pool was so fun to experience during the winter. locations was perfect. 5 minutes to the skiing resort. kids club was great!
Hotel is stunning! View is breathtaking. The whole area is very beautiful and relaxing. Stuff in the hotel is kind and they were helpful for anything we needed. Cleanliness was great and food in the restaurants was very tasty. I'm giving 10/10 for this beautiful place!
The location of the hotel was stunning, atop a mountain overlooking the city of Merano. My room was very spacious and comfortable. The hotel breakfast was incredible and the staff were all very nice and professional. I highly recommend this property!
A very cozy, very well run hotel and restaurant - with a great eye for detail and quality both in the rooms, drinks and food. Great location for amazing hikes!
The facilities at the hotel are second to none, while the breakfast is exquisite. Staff very helpful and professional. A quite place to relax and indulge.
