We had a great stay at Hotel Aldan. There was plenty of free parking, and the hotel was so centrally located in Seydisfjordur (walking distance to the rainbow street, the main reception and restaurant). The room itself was decorated in an antique-y style but was clean and the bathroom was very modern. The bed was very comfortable, there was a kettle with free tea and coffee, and we had a great view out to the mountain. Check in was fairly easy although located in another building.

Clean, comfortable room with a beautiful and unique view of the fjord! The room was very cosy. We stayed here 3 days due to bad weather which prevented us from leaving (our booking was for one night only) and Maggy was lovely with us!!! Every day she came by to ask if we needed anything and provided us with coffee and chocolate. She kept us updated on the road situation and gave us advice on where to eat and what to do. I highly recommend everyone to stay are here!!! Thanks again Maggy!!!

We loved it. The host, Ingrid, welcomed us with such warmth that we have not experienced anywhere else. Anything we needed, anything we asked got resolved and answered.
The outside looks a bit rough, but don't let it fool you. The host has just gotten the building and is doing a lot of work, she started from the insides and it shows!
The beds and pillows are comfortable, not too hard and surely not too soft. The bathroom is very functional and has a good amount of space.
The studio apartment worked well for the four of us, just have to figure out your own dance steps around the kitchen.
You get to park your car right in front of the door.
Also, we were stuck in Seyðisfjörður for four days due to snow storms and the road being closed. Ingrid looked after us and made sure we got to the grocery store (with her car!). We all felt safe in a new situation.

This town is a bit over rated in my opinion.
This town is a bit over rated in my opinion. There is almost nothing there. The setting is nice, but we stayed in a town called Siglufjordur up north is much prettier and had a lot more to offer, so I would skip this one and head up there.

This is a great place to stay for a couple of days.
This is a great place to stay for a couple of days. The town is small but charming, and there a multiple day hikes close by. If you are doing the ring road, this might be a nice spot for two nights to rest up a bit. You might catch a glimpse of the Faroe Islands/Denmark Ferry that comes in once a week. Breakfast options are limited, however there is a little bakery in the supermarket that has wonderful fresh baked bread and goods.

This is a pleasant town in a strikingly beautiful location between mountains and a fjord. Apart from the surrounding beauty, the town is tranquil (out of season) and very walkable. We understand that things heat up during the summer season. There are a handful of restaurants and a well-stocked supermarket. During working hours the town suffers from strong fishy odors coming from the local fish processing factory. In short, it is a must-see stop on any tour of Iceland.zevCanada - 10Scored 10

We where 4 guys on a hunting trip and we wanted to be able to come and leave as we like and also be able to cook for ourself on the barbecue and use the hot tub. All this is just perfect in Langahlíð. The distance from Seyðisfjörður is very decent and the spaces between cabins are very good. The staff was very very helpful. The came and checked on us and switched out the gas for us on the barbecue and gave us extra tissue in no time. Very helpful and friendly.

These are the apartments that she grew up in with her family and grandparents so they are very dear to her. It was wonderful to be able to spread out after many nights in hotels.
