Great Location! Loved the pool in front of The Guesthouse, such a perfect way to end the day. It is a basic Guesthouse but all you need is there. Silja is easy to communicate with. Highly recommend you visiting here for one of two nights to enjoy The Westfjords

A well designed guest house with large, fully equipped kitchen, dining and lounge rooms. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms clean. The host was super responsive and happily assisted us with an extra night when the weather meant we couldn't drive further. She helped us to book the ferry and allowed us to stay in the guesthouse until 6pm the following day whilst waiting for the ferry. A lovely example of the Icelandic hospitality!

Hótel Flókalundur, hotel in Bjarkarholt

Set in Iceland’s Westfjords district, this hotel offers an in-house restaurant and basic rooms with free Wi-Fi access. Brjánslækur ferry terminal is a 5-minute drive away.

This was one of the nicest places we stayed on our 11 day trip! The rooms (& bathroom!) were extra roomy, super clean, and beautiful! The staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great and dinner at the restaurant was excellent. We loved that we could visit a natural hot spring just down and off the road--definitely worth doing.

It was very quiet and away from anything. You are right beside the ocean and there is a nearby hot pot. The bad thing though is that you at least 15 minutes from a gas station and 40 minutes from a supermarket.

Great location and very nice hosts. Bring FOOD! The guidebooks aren't lying when they say you are in a remote area of Iceland. Our apartment had a full kitchen. Make sure you are prepared with food and drink as there are not many options nearby.

We chose this because this is a not far from the Stykkisholmur ferry. We spent the night here before starting our tour of the Westfjords. It was excellent as a layover, but there is little else to do.

The wesfjords are super remote, and Bjarkarholt is a great location to stay to explore the southern part of the area. Holmavik is a 2 hrs drive, which is not that much compared to the distances on the peninsula.
