After a frazzled couple of days of driving, what surprised us most was the immediate calm we felt upon entering Castle Hackett. The room was big and beautiful, the beds were crisp and comfortable, and the shower was the perfect temperature. The children were delighted with the cows in the adjoining fields.
Breakfast the next day was serene with the smell of the turf fire, the gentle lull of Irish music and the perfectly cooked breakfast.
Did I mention the beautiful views of rolling fields, the interesting history of the building itself, the library filled with books, comfy chairs and board games or the looped forest walk leading to a castle ruin on your doorstep?
Above all the warmth of Joyce and Aidan's hospitality was the highlight of our visit.

Everything was perfect, welcoming host, beautiful bedroom with comfortable bed and view for the lake. We were travelling with our cat and it was no problem for Behnard and Petra to leave the cat in the bedroom while we went for the sightseeing. Breakfasts were fresh, delicious and fullfilling.
Nice lake nearby with tranquil atmosphere.

-Host's 2 lovely doggies and a cat,, doggies gives lot of spontaneous kisses.
-One day we were going back to the hotel and we went different route, approximately 7minutes from the Liroy's lodge we have spotted cute 4 alpacas on the field.
