Monaghan is a very busy town with some lovely dress shops and men shops. Nice coffee bars and place to eat - food is lovely and plentiful!. We noticed there was no litter anywhere.
A very enjoyable visit and would recommend The Meadows - very clean, nice towels every day, etc.
We ate in the Westenra Hotel.
Very easy to get around Monaghan.

Guesthouse was fantastic.
Guesthouse was fantastic. The lady was extremely pleasant and helpful. We were given a room upgrade and a delicious breakfast. We were meeting up with friends for dinner in Monaghan. Our meal in the Batch Loaf restaurant was excellent. Would definitely stay here again.

Monaghan is what it is.
Monaghan is what it is. A pleasant town that can be easily explored on foot with some nice restaurants and shops. Have stayed there on three occasions because of family events and will return again, but only for a family event.

At the suggestion of the hosts, we visited Castle Leslie one afternoon. We enjoyed it immensely. It’s a “must see” place to visit! (Paul McCartney and Heather Mills we’re married there a few years ago.) Monaghan is a beautiful county. We’d like to explore more of it another time! We‘ll be back again! 🇮🇪🍀😊

We had a good meal at The Squealing Pig.
We had a good meal at The Squealing Pig. However. the centre of Monaghan was disappointingly drab and limited in choice. We were keen to go to the nearby Ross more Forest Park but could find no helpful signs.
Beautiful rooms with very comfy beds. Spotlessly clean, with classy decor. Friendly, easygoing owners, who were chatty and pleasant. The breakfast was stunning, freshly cooked with fresh brewed coffee, orange juice and fruit. Ideal location within walking distance of the Hillgrove Hotel and the town. Would highly recommend.
The owners were very accommodating and flexible with our arrival time. Beds were very comfortable and the shower was perfect. The stay suited our needs perfectly. 10/10
If you’re looking for a nice place for breakfast/brunch we’d also highly recommend the Screaming Bean in the town centre 10/10
Room was fine, as expected. Pool grand. Sauna & Jacuzzi looks out onto pool which was a bit weird as kids were doing their lessons and parents there too. Steam room great. Breakfast was fine, thumbs up for the potato bread. Taxi into town. All in all fine. Staff excellent.
While the accommodation and breakfast was lovely, Liz, our hostess was fabulous and the real star. Taking us out for a pub crawl and craic on Saturday night in Monaghan. Now a treasured memory to take home to Edinburgh.
Excellent location within short distance of Monaghan town centre. Quiet location.
Friendly hostess who offered us facilities for a coffee on arrival. Tasty breakfast well cooked and presented.
Lovely accommodation and well situated for the town. Comfortable beds and well appointed bedrooms with very good shower.
Excellent cooked breakfast.
We wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
