Everything was so lovely from the moment we arrived. My mother and I went to stay at the lyrath for a night and I genuinely couldn't have asked for a better stay - I am a manual wheelchair user and messaged the hotel to ask for a wheelchair access room - the facilities were incredible there was a large bathroom which had a large turning circle, appropriate handrails and a shower chair attached to the wall. The staff were kind and friendly and more than happy to help with any request we had.

We booked a room with Kilkenny Hibernian Hotel for my birthday. The room was spacious and spotless and decorated beautifully and the double bed was huge and very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpfully and the breakfast was the icing on the cake. We'll be coming back for a longer stay soon.

Amazing castle view, great clean room with mold-free modern bathroom, coffee machine, slippers, comfortable bed - everything was great (after staying a night in another hotel nearby I felt a great difference). The breakfast was plentiful and it was a free parking for guests. Thank you, we are already dreaming of coming back!
If you’re not fussy about cleanliness and just want cheap...
If you’re not fussy about cleanliness and just want cheap accommodation for a few days, stay here. Close to Kilkenny town but not walkable. Only suitable for two people. Challenging if your over 5’10”. Ran by an elderly lady and her daughter who has a disability. They were lovely and offered us lifts into town. Overall it did the job for us but if you are fussy stay away. Paid €160 for 3 nights which was about right for two people. Not worth much more. Taxi from or to town €11.

Really dirty.
Really dirty. I had to boil the kettle to wash a few things and clean an area. I was so disappointed as the photos of the apartment are lovely. It has great potential but needs to be cleaned properly. The road is really busy and not possible to walk to to town. It would be worry mentioning this in their advert. I was told by the owners daughter it was 1/4 mile into town. Its much further than this..
