Firstly, the host was very welcoming and friendly. She wanted to ensure we had a good stay and served up a delicious breakfast for us in the morning. Not only that, she made us tea and toast in the evening and we were able to relax in the lounge and enjoy some TV after a busy day. The room was comfortable and the breakfast room was very tidy and clean.

My hosts, Carmel and Patrick, were a delightful couple. They accommodated me in every way. I felt as if I were a member of their family. In fact, I met some of their family and friends. It was a wonderful visit. I hope to stay in touch with them.
Knock Shrine is a religious venue and Shrine commemorating...
Knock Shrine is a religious venue and Shrine commemorating the Apparition of the Mary, Mother of God with St. Joseph and St. John, so is of appeal to Catholic and other Christian believers and to some people from the other Abrahamic Faiths, Judaism and Islam. It is a modern facility located in a beautiful local setting, and an interesting and scenic part of the west of Ireland, with a local airport and car-hire facilities. As well as religious services, counselling services are available daily. There is an interesting museum and attached to it a very attractive restaurant. The Conference Centre called St. John's Welcome Centre is well equipped. The bookshop is also well managed. There is ample free parking at the venue.

I found getting there by train from Heuston(Dublin)to Claremorris and onward by bus to Knock was easy enough. Once there it was easy to go onward to other destinations as a number of buses go through Knock. Derry,Athlone,Galway and Westport to name a few. There is are diverse eating establishments. Knock is very easy to get around although trying to park may at times be a problem.

I would not recommend unless you are very Catholic as apart from the Shrine which is beautiful, that's it. Knock hotel felt like a retirement home and it was scruffy and staff very unprofessional.

Devine Mercy Guest House is an ideal place to stay in Knock.
Devine Mercy Guest House is an ideal place to stay in Knock. The hosts are very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Accommodation is very comfortable, situated in a quiet location within walking distance of the Shrine and shops. Hosts are very flexible and cater to ones needs. A taxi service is provided which is very helpful when transport is needed from and to the airport. Having stayed there twice and having got such excellent service I will definitely stay there again in the future. I loved Knock Museum and excellent meals are served in the restaurant. I would suggest checking the telephone number for Devine Mercy B&B with codes etc before you set out as my flight was delayed and my text messages didn't get through to advise of my late arrival
Greeted warmly by our hostess. After settling in we went to the lounge to sit and were treated with a pot of tea and homemade soda bread. The rooms were a good size, nice ensuite facilities. Beds were comfortable. Had a kettle and tea and coffee in the room. Breakfast was full Irish cooked to order. Less than 5 minutes' drive from Our Lady of Knock Shrine. On the suggestion of our hostess, we found a good place for dinner, and attended Rosary and evening mass at the Shrine - a highlight of our stay.
Lovely home from home, the host was very kind and helpful, the Wi-Fi worked perfectly and plenty of parking. Very quiet too, despite being on a main road. There is a convenience shop within 10 mins walking distance, and the village is 10 mins walk away too. Can't fault it, a proper home to enjoy rather than a small hotel room. Also the Ren handwash was lovely!
The Host & her family were warm and welcoming. Breakfast was really fantastic. The sitting room and dine-in were fabulous. The Host Elsie was always available with great information about the Shrine in Knock. Also offered to drop off at the airport for a reasonable price. Best of all she treats you just like family.
It was just perfect when you have kids so much space rather than being in a hotel room. It was so clean and had everything you could need ,very cosy and welcoming. The owner was also lovely very friendly welcoming guy and its right beside knock shrine so was perfect for our visit .we will definitely be back .
Very convenient to Knock Shrine. Barbara was very accommodating with when we wanted breakfast on the morning. Room was quiet and house set off from the road. Very central if wanting to go to West Coast of Ireland. Also, if you need more coffee or cookies just ask. Breakfast can be to order, just ask.
Barbara, the host, is excellent. She's kind, friendly and hospitable. Her breakfast is superb. I was travelling alone from Malaysia and she took the extra effort in showing me around the shrine. God Bless her and her family, always! If I ever return to Knock, Golden Rose House will be my 1st choice.
Wonderful B&B outside of Knock. less than a 5 minute drive from the Apparition site. Ann was an incredible host and made sure our time was enjoyable. She was so kind to our 15m son and was incredibly accommodating. Plus she cooks a fantastic Irish breakfast!
Apartment was very neat & tidy,. Beds were really comfortable. Location was excellent with only a few minutes walk to the shrine, no noise of traffic at night ,was extremely quiet would definitely recommend it
We where made welcome by Catherine, she had time for a chat telling you about Knock and the Shrine and how the airport was built, breakfast was lovely and plentiful, also a beautiful house and location
Right in the town of Knock, so was very close to the shrine of Knock. Comfortable beds and hot shower. breakfast was lovely and Elsie was very friendly and helpful with ideas for what to do and see.
Warm reception from proprieter. Comfortable clean room. Excellent breakfast. I really enjoyed my stay and would return to stay the next time I go to Knock. It was a true Irish welcome. Thank you.
