Great location in the middle of the Athlone. Helpful host, due to our early departure, a refrigerator with a continental breakfast was brought to our room prior our arrival which was great- a big thank you !
Small but cozy room with a good bed. Maybe a little bit overprized for a room size.

Great location downtown Athlone, handy for eating out and seeing the beautiful Shannon. The premises was welcoming and very typical Irish pub atmosphere. The rooms were basic but spotless, ideal for a group or big family needing a short and convenient stay.

We loved the Church of St.
We loved the Church of St. Peter and Paul - they feature vivid and colourful stained glass windows made by Harry Clarke. We were in there for way longer than we anticipated, the art was so detailed and interesting. We found handy parking round the back of the castle, but it was February and was quiet so no problems there.

Sean's Bar had a very good live music duo. We ate at The Fatted Cow, which served excellant food in a professional and friendly atmosphere. The town itself was easy to get around with good transport links to other towns and cities. It was a good place to be based at.

Front desk customer service was absolutely brilliant.
Front desk customer service was absolutely brilliant. THANKS to Eric the man is a legend. Good staff everywhere. Room was little hot but that was the weather we were having. ROOM was excellent Breakfast and a swim in the pool to it off .Thank-you one and all
Fabulous location for a couple of nights in Athlone without needing a car. One of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in! The rooms seemed to be very well sound-proofed. A really good breakfast selection - continental and hot - in a relaxed environment even though the hotel was very busy. Spacious lobby area to meet up. Shopping centre is right next door. The hotel is much more impressive on the inside than it appears from the outside. (Admittedly not helped by lots of roadworks going on while we were there.)
The location and privacy of the room was more than adequate for the time that I had spent in the room. The location was similar to where I had stayed in the last time that I had been in Athlone, and is very central to the town. While my standards for walkability are wildly different than most people's (I wouldn't decline a walking trip to Roscommon, for example), I felt like the town as a whole had a very accessible vibe and the location of this hotel was very conducive to that ideal.
We stayed over the Christmas holidays 2023/24. I could not recommend this property more. The location is just a few kilometers from Athlone, which is in the center of Ireland. This made it ideal for us as we were looking to visit areas all over the island. The apartment is quaint and comfortable on a very quiet country lane. But most of all, our hosts were absolutely the best. We will be visiting in Ireland again, and we plan to stay here again.
Neil and Avril are absolutely lovely, and their restoration of the house was done with noticeable care and meticulous attention. Our room was beautiful and comfy, and breakfast was quite delicious. I found myself wishing we had more time here because of the excellent hosts! Neil gave many recommendations and fun history lessons of the extended area. The house was a short walk (maybe 1 km?) into the touristy part of Athlone. Would stay again!
At ten minutes walking distance from Athlone town centre and the train station, we got a full-sized 2-bedroom 1.5 bathroom appartment with all ameneties and well-equipped kitchen, all much bigger than we've had before when booking a self-catering appartment. We only stayed one night, so it was a pity we couldn't really enjoy it completely; this would be an ideal starting place if you want to explore this part of Ireland for several days.
Staff were helpful when we requested the beds be changed from double to twin. They advised that the request for twin beds wasn't received by the hotel. They also said they did not received the request for the rooms to be close together, and initially assigned rooms on two different floors. However when changing the beds to twin rooms one room was changed and as a result we happily ended up very close to each other.
We enjoyed everything about our stay in The Sheraton. The location in the heart of Athlone, the helpful and friendly staff, the comfortable spacious room, the huge variety of breakfast which catered for every dietary need. etc. It was a fantastic stay and we would highly recommend the hotel to our friends. We will definitely be back.
So clean and quiet. Stayed for a wedding in Athlone. Taxi was about 14euro each way and we had no problems getting one in and out.
Comfy rooms with bice spacious ensuites. Grounds are fantastic. Exceptional value for money compared to the hotels in the town 10/10
love this hotel. we have stayed here numerous times and always had a amazing time. The hotel is located in such a perfect area close to all the shops, banks and cafés. Staff are amazing so helpful and friendly. I couldn’t recommend this hotel enough.
Perfect location for an overnight stay in Athlone. Clean rooms, cosey bed (minus the pillows which were a bit too hard) and lovely staff. Cheap and cheerful breakfast although just lacking the essentials for a continental buffet.
The apartments are lovely and in a convenient location in the centre of Athlone. The staff are incredibly helpful with anything that you want to organise. Would highly recommend staying here.
Friendly staff, we were able to check into our room early. Quiet, clean room and lovely breakfast. Pool, sauna and steam room a bonus. Everywhere walkable in Athlone from the hotel
Spotlessly clean, very comfortable bed and spacious room. Excellent breakfast!! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in Athlone.
