We enjoyed our stay in an apartment in Piraeus not far from the port entrance. The port is a very busy and very big area, it took us a while to find our way round as there are very few directional signs in English. It makes it hard to find things initially. We had to ask directions a lot and some locals treated us poorly with eye rolling, etc. while they explained directions to us like we were children. Once you get it worked out though it is a great way to do a bit of island hoping. We went on day trips to Paros, Hydra and Aegina. Loved them all.
Hospitality staff in restaurants and cafes in Piraeus were great, very friendly and helpful. Great service everywhere we went.
The area is not very attractive though as it is a working waterfront and as with everywhere in Greece there is so much graffiti. So sad that a city with such incredible history is so badly defaced. Overall it was a great stay though.

A bustling harbour and marina area of downtown Athens.
A bustling harbour and marina area of downtown Athens. We loved it as being near the Zea Marina meant lots of nightlife and amazing super yachts etc. It had a good family feel with people out and about safely having fun till quite late. You could access public transport to get into Athens centre easily and I would say this is a good a place to stay if not better due to ability to swim and see some quieter parts beyond the central tourist areas. It also meant accessing trips to the Islands was easy as they mainly left from the marinas, and if you wanted a ferry or cruise these were also nearly at the port the other side of the peninsula.

We stayed near the marina which had lots of quaint restaurants. It was easy to walk around and enjoy. The hop-on hop-off bus stop was right outside our hotel and provided easy access to Athens without all the headaches of staying in Athens. Since we were taking a cruise, this hotel was easily accessible to the cruise terminal and the hotel staff took care of all our arrangements.

Our host was amazing.
Our host was amazing. She was such a great facilitator and helped us find everything that we needed. She was just more than cordial. She even helped us find a plug that we needed in the town nearby. Shelters find our way to the train and I have it was a very nice clean, happy place and about a 20 minute cab ride to the port with the cruise ships, she was amazing
Delfini is a transit hotel that , in my opinion, responds to this purpose very well. Location is perfect, just 100 m from the Karaiskaki bus stop. We took the bus X96 from Athens Airport and in 90 minutes we arrived at Karaiskaki bus stop. From there just 2 minutes to the hotel.
Also it was perfect for us that Gate 7 for the ferry to Syros is just about 80 m from Delfini hotel, so next day it was very easy for us to go to ferry.
The ladies from the reception are very nice.
Nice quite large room in Piraeus on walkable distance from X96 (airport) bus, or Athens metro. Ferry ports are close by, so this place is your stopover hotel for the night. Clean, comfy bed, nicely lay out room and a fridge. There was 2 bottles of water provided, thank you! Bathroom was modern, and comfortable. Also the large balcony is appreciated. Breakfast was included in our stay, lovely! Some typical Greek food also, and plenty of eggs.
Very convenient for Piraeus port and metro lines to Athens. The hotel is off the main road and therefore relatively quiet. Rooms were comfortable and there was no noise from adjacent rooms. When we visited the hotel bar and restaurant was closed but staff were very helpful in directing us to an excellent restaurant. Indeed we found the staff always ready to respond to requests including organising our transfer to the Airport.
Great location - really just two minutes down to the port. Plenty of food options nearby but we ate at the hotel restaurant (they stayed open for us) and didn't regret it. The food is really good (and even by the end of our 3 weeks in Greece we can still say that) and the staff at the restaurant and at reception are helpful and friendly. The place is also clean and check-in/out was super easy.
We stayed a total of 4 stays and 5 nights at this hotel on this trip.
Constantinos, Marios, Demetria (owners) and the entire staff were very helpful and friendly!
Very nice room (very clean) and facilities; very good breakfast.
Excellent location, especially for the ferry port.
Hope to return to Greece, will definitely stay here again!
I was traveling/flying into Athens with my dog who had a large crate. My booking was last minute but the staff communicated with me very well and helped to book a driver from the airport to the hotel that would bring me, the dog, and her large crate. They stored my dogs crate in their storage room until I left so I could relax.
The hotel was conveniently located near the port and the staff was helpful and welcoming from the first night. The room was clean, well decorated, and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and convenient every morning- a highlight! This hotel was our favorite that we stayed at in the islands and we can’t wait to go back!
Great location very near to the beautiful port. We stayed after our cruise as an extra night in Athens free shuttle bus from port to hotel. Friendly staff and room was exceptional 5th floor with balcony comfortable and all required facilities. Boutique decor modern fresh and clean. Lovely restaurants nearby
The location of the Hotel was excellent near the Port, which is what we needed for 1 night to rest before the next voyage.
There are plenty of eateries outside which are open till late night.
The room had comfy beds with the AC working and a small balcony too.
This is a lovely hotel, most conveniently located for the Port, the Metro and the airport bus. The rooms are spacious, quiet, have a lovely bathroom and everything you need for a comfortable stay. Staff are great.
Lovely hotel near the port. Room was well appointed and the bed was very very comfortable. I had dinner in the restaurant which was OK and the breakfast was great. Hotel parking, once found, was an added bonus!
Great if you’re going to tour Athens for a day or 2 before catching an early boat to an island. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the port and 7 minutes from the metro that goes directly to the center of Athens
The hotel is located very close to the Pireus port. It has very good connection links (less than 10 minutes walk) from the Pireus train station (green line) and the Dimotiko Theatro metro station (blue line).
Very quiet and comfort hotel.
A bit of old rooms and building, but it's not important because if you want to relax and chill it's very good option.
Also, food, very good and staff so kind and hospitality!
We only spent one night at the hotel, as we were leaving for Paros the next morning. It was convenient to the port and had restaurants nearby. Ideal if you are in Piraeus for one night.
