Del Mare Suites, hotel in Glífa

Facing the beachfront, Del Mare Suites offers 3-star accommodation in Glífa and features a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, fitness centre and restaurant.

These are a set of very smart new apartments, over looking the sea and pool. The smartest apartment I think we have ever stayed in. Very smart pool area with thick luxury sunbeds, combined with dappled shade provided by rope work umbrellas and shades. The infinity pool over looks the sea and has children area. The pool colour is strange, it is blue and green and patchy, this colour makes the pool look like a pool that is growing algae, but it is clean, just the wrong colour for me. The beach can be reached by a short path and steps. The beach is small and is made up of pebbles, some 50m away towards the village the beach becomes sandy. Apartments come with balcony, table and chairs, with drying rack. Rooms have a small kitchenette, with microwave oven, two ring stove, fridge freezer, cutlery, crockery, pots, pans, kettle, sandwich toaster and glasses. Bathrooms are very well equipped, overhead and handheld shower, basin with heated mirror and WC. Plenty of places to put toiletries and towels. Main room, ours had twin bed and single bed. Plenty of sockets. Very good wifi. Smart TV with various free channels two coffee tables plenty of space for suitcases. Wardrobe with hooks and drawers, but only six hangers. Rooms had dressing gowns and slippers a very nice touch. Rooms even had irons and small ironing board. Air conditioning with remote. Rooms have a very small and insecure safe, they are not big enough to take an iPad and they are not fixed to the room in any way. Cleaning excellent. The apartments have a restaurant, but this was not open during our visit the bar was open. Best apartments we have used. Excellent.

Amazingly good value. Bed was comfortable, view overlooked the sea. Couldn't have asked for anything better. A shame I was only there for 1 night.

The Little House, hotel in Glífa

Featuring air-conditioned accommodation with a patio, The Little House is located in Glífa. This beachfront property offers access to a balcony, free private parking and free WiFi.

In absence of the owner (though we had talked on the phone) a friend handled our rather late arrival - all went smoothly and to plan! Apartment beautifully warm on arrival - heaters were on (a thoughtful touch). Indeed we needed to open windows and close off inverters. Apartment well appointed though for a brief overnight stay we did not do it justice.

There was enough space in the room for the two of us. The hotel is situated near the beach, you practically have to cross a small road and you are on the beach. The host was kind and made us feel welcomed.

Offering a garden and garden view, 139 steps from the sea is located in Gialtra, 16 km from Edipsos Thermal Springs and 46 km from Church of Osios David Gerontou.

I liked the fact that the house is situated in the forest, up to a hill and at the base of the hill is the see, the view over the sea is super nice.

Glyfa is a calm, quiet and small town, from where the ferries leave for the island of Evia, which is about 20 minutes away by ferry. Daily cruises depart from the port to Skiathos Island and Skopelos, which are 2.30 minutes away by bike. There are taverns, bars and shops in the town. The beach is sandy and rocky, not very long and wide, but there are beach bars and the sea is shallow and calm.
