Perfect location on a quiet part of the beach, amazing hospitality, and great food and drinks at very reasonable prices.

We drived to Elafonisi beach and took around one and half hour from the hotel. It's amazing scenery on the way there. Some parts of the road are quite narrow and winding. Must drive with caution. The beach is very beautiful and has also pink sand. The water is shalllow, clear with a turquoise color and smooth waves. We also take a day trip cruise to Balos beach and Gramvousa

Gerani is a quiet area 25 minutes outside of Chania and easy to reach by car or bus if you choose. Great base for sightseeing the northwest beaches. Close to restaurants and markets if you have a rental car or don’t mind walking about 10 minutes. Safe area to walk at night. Easy to teach Balos Beach, Elafonisi and Falassarna Beaches.

Such a lovely 'part of the world', plenty to see and experience. We chose to use Gerani as our base and visited other parts of the island staying one night elsewhere ie: (Iracleon). One week was clearly, not enough for Crete, will need to come back.

It was quiet and a nice respite from the busier areas. It offered good access to drive to different places. There were many facilities nearby so you could walk to restaurants, bars, etc. A lovely long beach.

The Gerani Beach is OK for strong swimmers and adults but it is not suitable for young children. The water gets deep very quickly and the waves are strong at the shoreline even on calm days. The water is murky due to being stirred up by the strong waves. There are also rocks that are hard on the feet to step past to get in the water. We stayed for 2 weeks in the second half of July and about 8 of those days were red flag days when swimming in the sea was not allowed due to dangerous waves (strong winds). For the children to swim in the sea, we took the bus to a nearby beach (Kalamaki) that had sand, crystal clear water, less waves and did not suddenly get deep. Also, make sure you get accommodation with a pool. The Gerani area is nice however for a peaceful holiday as it is away from shops and busier tourist areas.
We were very satisfied with our stay in this apartment hotel.
It is very quiet place to relax. We spent here a week with sound of the sea and cicadas.
We swimmed in the hotel swimming pool or in the sea which is very close. Around the pool there is a nice garden with grass and flowers. And of course umbrellas.
The apartment was nice and clean. And the personal was very helpful.
I really recommend for people who like relaxing holiday.
. The hotel is large and well designed so it never felt crowded or noisy in the pool or beach area. There are lot of positives to this hotel so I would recommend it to others
- great pool and bar area
- modern rooms with very comparable beds
- reception were friendly and helped get us a car for the day and provided guidance on how to travel to places via the local buses
- the hotel gym has a good selection of equipment
The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. My partners birthday fell on one of the days and they accommodated us very well on the day. They blew up balloons that I bright ass gave him a cake which was lovely
The hotel/ resort itself was very clean. Cleaners came every morning and would knock to make sure you wanted your room cleaned if you had forgotten to put up the “clean” sign.
The property is just on the beach, perfect location: quiet, wide beach, perfect water, not crowded, just what I was looking for! All rooms and apartments have private bathrooms. The meals was all one could ask for: breakfast, lunch and dinner were just perfect. Amicably personnel, both cleaning and serving. When I'll go to Crete again, I will for sure go back to Carreta Hotel.
Good (and quiet) location of the hotel and the beach is not crowded. Lots of space on the hotel territory, we had a big room and we haven't felt cramped in the room or outside. Fantastic balconies in the sew view rooms. Very good food in the buffet restaurant, extremely friendly and forthcoming staff. We'd definitely visit this hotel again, good value for money.
Nice and comfortable stay. The hotel had a beautiful outdoor area. The size and standard of the room mostly lived up to our expectations. The bathroom in particular was modern with a large shower. The buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner was very good. The additional included dinner at the hotel a la carte restaurant was very nice.
The hotel was great with a beautiful view to White Mountains. The staff was very helpfull and kind. The pool was great, plenty of sunbeds for everyone, beach close by, markets, bakery, taverns and a bus stop all with a walking distance. Perfect place for a relaxed holiday close but far enough from all the hustle of bigger villages.
Maria was a wonderful hostess and with her and the cleanliness, our stay was A+. The hotel is located in a perfect spot right next to the ocean. Few restaurants here and there close by, but you need to walk a bit or take a taxi to get anywhere with more people and bars. For the most days, it felt like we had our own private pool!
Very friendly family owned small hotel. A bit far from the main street, but there's a bus every 20min. Or just rent a car.
The facility is basic but sufficient and great value for money. We were let to check out at 2000 with no problem and at no additional cost, which was very nice.
The overall experience was great.
Proximity to an almost wild beach, wonderful. You can even see many stars at night as not many properties nearby. The garden with sunbeds is really nice (minus the cicades strong noise). But you can enjoy the garden without being at this hotel, as a customer of the restaurant. Hotel's inner courtyard looks nice.
The best thing is that we booked the hotel for only two nights (though I was seriously considering to move out immediately).
The beach near hotel is not nice but it has some turtle nests on it (marked and fenced), which is an interesting to see (though, of course, this has nothing to do with the hotel).
As described, new and very clean and very well maintained. Rooms were spacious, good atmosphere, and fantastic crew running the hotel from the cleaning ladies to the manager, all hotel personnel was great, some of the nicest people I’ve met in a hotel! Thank you!
I had one of the most memorable stays at Asterion! The hotel is beautiful, clean and food is lovely. The people who work there are amazing and go above and beyond to make you feel at home, I just couldn’t recommend staying there enough!
Lito hotel is amazing, excellent location, extremely clean and amazing staff. The hotel is beachfront with amazing views. The beach there is wonderful, such clear water. loved everything about my stay at Lito.
- The whole staff was super friendly and helpful, especially Tea.
- Breakfast was nice and fresh.
- The sea view from the hotel.
- Swimming pool was nice eventhough a bit small.
