The cuisine was outstanding! The healthy breakfast included home made yoghurt, local honey and fresh oranges. The evening meals were very authentic, again featuring local produce and we felt we were the best of home cooking. For hikers the location is excellent. there are also communal areas outside the bedroom for quiet time.

Place spotless, great cakes and wine! Wanda is a great host and looks after the apartments well. We liked being a few km from the coast , great views, quiet and a cooling breeze. If you get a taxi to the top of the Agia Irini gorge you can walk back direct to Spiti Mas. Not too far away (about 30 metres) is a lovely restaurant serving proper Cretan food with a smile.

Surrounded by the White Mountains, Samaria Village is within a 10-minute walk from the entrance of Samaria Gorge at an altitude of 1200 metres.

The breakfast was excellent - fresh bread, orange juice, eggs. The most amazing thing is the location - among pastures with sheep :) A perfect place for trekking in the Samaria Gorge. Very friendly owner. I recommend!
