Chrissa Camping Rooms & Bungalows, hotel in Delfoi

Chrissa Camping Rooms & Bungalows is spread amphitheatrically on a hill with unobstructed views to the Corinthian bay.

The campsite features a magnificent pool with splendid views. The little bungalow we had, called Erato, also came with a picknick table with a nice view. There is a small village next to the campsite, called Chrissa, which is a little gem to have dinner on the main square and feel like you are off the beaten track. Delfi is only 10 minutes by car, I recommend driving up and visiting the last two hours of opening, so you can truly enjoy the splendour of the site without it being overcrowded.

Delphi has a great archeological site and museum.

Delphi has a great archeological site and museum. Those can be seen in one morning or afternoon. The number of large tour groups was a headache and ruined the experience. There needs to be a limit on entry per day. The town is a tourist trap and not worth your time. Stay elsewhere for better surroundings and visit Delphi on a day trip. Mt Parnassus National Park is an empty, undeveloped forest. As far as we could tell, we were the only ones there in mid April. The place is real wilderness and loaded with a wide variety of mushroom and fungus, which is a why we went.

Archeological site and museum are well worth the trip, but other than that, there’s no reason to stay more than the morning or afternoon it takes to see those two things. The town is another tourist trap of souvenir stores and basic restaurants with extremely limited parking.

My favourite place in Dephi was definitely the archaeological site, especially the temple of Apollo. We had a wondeful breakfast at Melopoleio every morning, which was followed by a pleasant coffee and beer later in the evening. Delphi has the village in a walking distance both from the site and the museum. However, I would recomment to any visitors to prefer a car as a means of transportation, because there are plenty of villages around the area that are worth seeing.

    Great location. A must go.

Great location. A must go. The ruines are great although the stadium was closed. And the museum is really nice. We spent two nights and this was maybe too much. We arrived at 2pm from Athenes by bus. We could have visited the location on the day after and leave back to Athenes with the 4pm bus. Nevertheless, there was a very good restaurant (Taverna Vahkos) so that is ok.

Delphi is a beautiful location, the archaeological site and museum are stunning. The town is very close to the small winter ski resort of Parnassos and the picturesque town of Arachova but also very close to the seaside, Itea and the picturesque seafront town of Galaxidi. Food was really delicious both in Delphi and Arachova. All in all a must-see for visitors to Greece but, also ideal for a weekend or long weekend stay. If you have a car you can see and do so much. You don't even need a car if you are only interested in the Delfoi archaeological site which is a short walk from the town.

A small mountain town with a lot of history!

A small mountain town with a lot of history! Worth a visit, if for no other reason then to see the Temple of Apollo, quite possibly the third most famous landmark in Greece (after the Acropolis and Mount Olympus), where the Oracle if Delphi foretold her prophecies. Be sure to budget enough time to see neighboring Araxova!

despite it needs a refresh since many years, and despite it is a bus stop for typical non European tourists, this hotel remains one of my absolute favourites on a car road trip throughout Greece. You find back this unqualifiable special atmosphere of the 60ies and 70ies of the unfortunately disappeared Xenia chain. Very well located quietly outside the centre with a magnificent view. Nevertheless just a short walk away from the centre and the archeological site and museum. comfortable bedding, great breakfast buffer

Pleasantly renovated hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and likeable and fulfilled all our extra demands promptly (eg. asking for separate bed covers, leaving our suitcases for a few hours after check out). The view towards the seaside was lovely and we booked a family room for 4 where 2 separate double rooms are connected by a private corridor so kids feel close and safe but also everyone has privacy. Very close to the gorgeous archaeological site (10' walk) and the Mt Parnassos ski resort 40'drive).

This is a nice family run hotel very near Delphi, The rooms have wood features and the decore is lovely. The local olives are fantastic and they serve them with breakfast. We asked for a room with a panoramic view and a bath which they provided, The view from the balcony is worth it as you can see all the way down the valley to the town of Itea on the Gulf of Corinth. Parking in the street was easy. It's a short walk to many great resaurants. The food around here is excellent.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay. George is a warm host. Pitho is a great little hotel. We loved our private and quaint little terrace at the back of our room. George also suggested some marvellous walks in addition to the archaeological sites. Special thanks, also, to his friend George the taxi driver, who drove us one way from Delphi to Kalembaka (3 1/2 hours.....for him, a round trip of 7+ hours) A huge effort and worth the price. The hotel owner, Georgios, was a man of hospitality. An absolutely beautiful, impeccably clean hotel it was. The breakfast served was very good. I stayed in many hotels in Greece for my 1 month tour, and hands down, this hotel was the best by a wide margin in every respect. I stayed there for just one night but only wished to stay longer there.
