From stepping into the room and seeing how clean it was and how it was set out we were delighted. The only problem was we were over for my uncle’s funeral so we didn’t get to spend much time there. I would love to go back over for St. Patrick’s Day it looks like it would be great craic. Live music every Saturday night, unfortunately we were there on a Thursday and flying home Friday night after the funer. Definitely recommend and we will be back

First impression was not brilliant as we entered the pub at the main entrance and approached the bar as we could not see the signs for the accommodation, which were actually round the other side of the bar. Stood there for a good ten minutes whilst staff walked back and forth and ignored us! Once we knew where to go, check in was efficient and we were taken to our room. Top floor, rear facing up a couple of flights of narrow-ish stairs. Room was adequate size for what we needed and clean with, tea coffee and biscuits. Bathroom with shower. Bed was a bit hard for my liking but that is personal choice. We ate in the bar on the first night and food was really nice with a good choice of beers. Couple of bars but nothing much else in the area, this was fine with us. Breakfast at weekend is full english and continental and more than adequate. Next evening we ate out but came back for drinks and the bar area was comfortably full of people. Trainee on the bar first night and I witnessed one member of staff being quite sharp with him but other than that, all staff were pleasant and approachable. One tip and something to just be aware of, which isn't related to the hotel really, was we stayed here due to visiting London and the free parking the Royal Oak afforded us. We did see it was over a mile to the nearest tube station but thought the walk would be good for us, especially as the weather was dry that day. Problem is, google takes you through a forest which, with it being winter and wet over the previous day, was muddy ! Overall, good stay, free parking, clean room, bargain price, nice food, pleasant staff, it was perfect for us.

We stayed here as we were going to the ABBA concert, it was close enough, a good price and had parking. The hotel/pub was lovely and had a secret garden. We didn’t eat in the hotel but the menus looked good. A few local shops and places to eat down the road but we mainly drove to the Westfield shopping centre. Tesco is nearby too. If you are going to the concert, we found driving to westfield shopping centre and parking on there for £8, then getting the DLR. it’s just one stop and takes you right outside the arena. They run around every 10 minutes. Driving was a little “risky” certainly a lot of crazy drivers who just push in front of you from both sides. Traffic is heavy most of the time so give yourself extra time if driving!

Good location for what we needed, short public transport journey to where we were heading. The road outside is noisy, this is not a problem if you're used to traffic noise or live in a city. Good breakfast. Parking was easy and free. Comfy bed and pillows.
