Excellent breakfast and good evening meal although a bit pricey. Staff were very attentive and efficient. Great old worldly atmosphere, however it would have completed the picture if the log fire was burning! Our room was spacious and comfortable.

Dining and bar area very inviting verging on glamorous.
Food was fantastic, I had the crispy fried beef noodle dish and it was really delicious. Can’t remember what my husband and our friend ate but they both loved it.

Delightful pub/hotel, in a pretty market Cotswold market town. The Fleece serves excellent food, craft beers, in a typical country gastropub environment. Bedroom accommodation is comfortable, and protected from the pub noise below. Above all, the staff team are friendly, helpful, efficient, and enthiastic to please. We will be returning for a second helping !!

I was visiting Cornbury over the weekend so the location was excellent. But it’s in a lovely setting anyway, a quiet village with a pleasing view. Owner was very welcoming and had been concerned to keep the place cool during exceptionally hot weather; but I was fine. Place was very clean and bed very comfortable. I only needed toaster and kettle so my needs were met - these things plus the fridge and crockery were very clean and your used pots are washed daily. I’ll definitely be back.

I used to live in Witney.
I used to live in Witney. Came back to London, where I was born & raised, 15 years ago but my father & children (err, all mid-late 30's) live in that area, so I visit regularly. Summer, The Fleece for lunch outside overlooking the Green. Taxi to Hailey since The Bird in Hand is special. There is the blanket museum because it's a bit of a give away that Witney has a wool exchange, a mill and a history! Plenty of walks & fresh air. Almost forgot, Roman ruins https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-oxfordshire-57510142

Witney is a great little town.
Witney is a great little town. Parking in West Oxon is free in all council car parks - a rarity these days. So many places to visit - Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens, Cogges Farm Museum, Blenheim Palace... it goes on. Many cafes, bars, pubs and restaurants in town. Independent shops in Witney and nearby villages/towns. It's just lovely.

Witney is a lovely little town, although the roads were very busy and noisy until you reached the quieter, traffic-restricted area in the centre. It has a wide range of places to eat and drink and a good selection of shops - chain and independent. We were very disappointed with the attitude of staff at The Plough, as we were refused a menu, even though others were ordering and eating, our drinks order wasn't completed fully and I was accused of being rude when I asked for both matters to be resolved. Needless to say, we didn't stay. San Marzano, just further down the High Street, was the complete opposite - food and service exemplary.

Witney was a stop to our air show destination. Pub, great.
Witney was a stop to our air show destination. Pub, great. Parking, not so. Restaurant menu over pretentious.
Loved the welcome. Unfortunately lights within room not working/ useless, air .com unit didn't respond. No instructions for coffee machine. A lot of style over substance.

Great place.
Great place. Very Central, close to Oxford, not too far from Stratford, and so on. Friendly, town. Could be a bit more friendly, can't say it's exactly Wholesome and Quint. But it is a nice old town with a good vibe of its own.

The centre of Witney is easy and pleasant to walk around, with a variety of shops, restaurants and cafes all easily accessible. There are frequent buses to Oxford (for colleges, museums, main railway connections, etc) and Woodstock (for Blenheim Palace). There is also a regular bus service across the Cotswolds to Cheltenham. Road access to Cotswold villages, walks and scenery is very good.
Breakfast was amazing. There was so much. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Dinner was brilliant. Service was very good.
Room was nice and quiet. Unfortunately we stayed during hot weather so it was sweaty but they did provide a big fan which somewhat helped but not that much. It would have been nice and warm during cold weather no doubt.
Excellent location only a few minutes drive to Witney town centre.
Let me start by saying this was our final stay, after a 15 night vacation in England and Wales.
Saving the best for last is so true in our case.
As soon as we checked in, we were greeted warmly and were so pleased to see the beautiful restaurant and bar. Where we had 2 wonderful meals.
Our room did not disappoint. It was so welcoming and spotless, and we were able to just relax and enjoy.
A beautiful clean property close to the town centre of Witney and fairly close to Oxford. The kitchen had the essentials which was lovely and the interior was modern as well. The host is more than happy to help with any questions on the local area or queries and is also very flexible. We will be returning after a wonderful stay, couldn’t recommend enough
This is a great place to stay - so close to Blenheim, Oxford and the Cotswolds. We based ourselves here for a weekend exploring the local area and the Cotswolds. The rooms are immaculate and have everything you need, including a shower I didn’t want to get out of and gorgeous fluffy towels. Super friendly and helpful staff.
Very bright and spacious cottage. Spotless bathrooms, super functional modern kitchen and cosy living room with a charming fire place and warm throws.
Great location for exploring Witney, Minster Lovell, Burford and Oxford. There are some great pubs in the area!
Pretty much everything. Spacious, well equipped, spotlessly clean, homely and comfortable. Witney town centre is a short walk away with 2 supermarkets a couple of minutes away. identified parking space by the apartment.
