Bishopstrow Hotel and Spa - Small Luxury Hotels of the World, hotel in Westbury

This English country house in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside has a luxurious spa and restaurant where every dish is crafted with the freshest local ingredients.

The location is fabulous, and the main building, rooms and spa clean and atmospheric. The spa is a strong point given the indoor and outdoor facilities. The food, once delivered, was superb and was the highlight of the stay, especially breakfast. If you are allergic to dog hair, stay away, as all the rooms (including bedrooms) are doggy friendly - a plus and negative!

On arrival there was limited parking for about 5 cars. We got a spot no problem. Warm welcome from the owner and her daughter. Made us feel welcome as we travelled from Lancashire to visit our son in bath as we only stayed the one night. Very comfy bed too. The breakfast was standard full English plus cereals if preferred. I wouldn’t say the breakfast was exquisite as described on booking .com it’s was just a normal breakfast as you would expect in a b&b. But would recommend staying here as the owners are warming and welcoming.

Nice places to walk and explore. Good pub restaurants like the Seven Stars in Bradford-on-Avon which has very good food, service and atmosphere and like Slades Farm Glamping is also dog friendly. I would highly recommend a visit to Wiltshire.

Close proximity to Longleat safari, City of Bath and Cheddar Gorge of which we visited all. Plenty of nice pubs in the area, friendly and helpful people. Avoid Stonehenge as nightmare traffic delays due to people slowing down to view it

The layout of Westbury takes a while to get to know and of course there is a busy road running through it. We intend to try to get to know the area in the near future as it is an area we are looking to 'downsize' and move to a more convenient location for our children. Plenty of areas for walking and picnicking.

    Friendly hosts and locals.

Friendly hosts and locals. Stunning views and good rail links to surrounding areas. Nice pubs and just a general nice feel of the little town. Railway Inn and The Royal Oak were particularly nice place for a few drinks and a nice meal. The Redwood Lodge is a great place to stay too. Excellent breakfast and lovely hosts.

We stay in hotels and lodges etc quite frequently ,and the towels were definitely the softest and fluffiest we have ever had. The property is so comfortable and homely, with eclectic items in all rooms. The property looks much bigger when you actually see it,and with 3 toilets and 2 bathrooms it's ideal for 6 people, we would definitely return. There is also a small community cafe/shop/park with small animals just around the corner which was an added bonus. Only 20 mins from Longleat and Bath.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Very good location in the middle of the town. Breakfast was a marvel, better breakfast than anywhere I have been, freshly cooked and served hot according to your preference. It was a real pleasure staying at the Garden house. The room was very cleaned and bathroom super clean, much better than many hotels that I have stayed in. The owners pay attention to every details

Firstly sandy the owner and her lovely daughter made us very welcome. Its the first time we have stayed in a b and b rather than a hotel and was unsure what to expect. They really make you feel part of the family. The rooms are lovely and cosy with every thing you need. We didnt have time for breakfast but the smell and sight of it looked amazing. We will be back to sample one soon.

Tillys cottage is a beautifully refurbished cottage with all modern appliances and very clean. Was close to the three daggers pub/restaurant and not far from Westbury where you have supermarkets, bars, shops. Also close to the white horse on the hill. And Stonehenge is about half hour drive.
