Bel & The Dragon at The Red Lion is a historic grade II-listed coaching inn with stunning features dating back to 1669 and possibly even earlier in origin; much of the original building still stands.

Pure relaxation in beautiful settings. The spa was beautifully designed with lots of nooks to escape to relax and be quiet but also fabulous pools, steam room, sauna. Stayed one night, completely chilled out.
Lovely Homes, a property with a garden and a shared lounge, is set in Aylesbury, 12 km from Notley Abbey, 29 km from Bletchley Park, as well as 32 km from Woburn Abbey.
Wendover looked really fresh and welcoming. Better than when I was there before the pandemic.
Amazing Thai restaurant at the George and Dragon. The waitress remembered, to the letter and person, the order from 8 people and the food was fab.

Wendover is a very picturesque small town with lots of good restaurants and pubs to choose from. The Ridgeway Path goes through Wendover and this stretch of the path is very beautiful in that it traverses through some varied woodlands. It is also a great base for visiting other places of interest, such as the Natural History Museum in Tring.

It's in a beautiful part of the country (soon to be ruined by HS2 unfortunately) and there is plenty of access to great walks on Coombe Hill NT property, Wendover Woods - complete with Skywalk - as well as the Aylesbury Arm of the Grand Union Canal towpaths. Other NT properties are nearby.
The room was fantastic and beautifully decorated. The staff were friendly. The menu was very good with a decent amount to choose from. Fairly expensive as pub food goes, but all very nice. A good choice of wines, beers and spirits. Overall a very pleasant stay. If we were to go to this area again we would definitely use this hotel. The breakfast was really nice and plentiful. Choice of eggs, poached, fried or scrambled. Also, cereals, cold meats, cheeses and yoghurts.
Perfect location, very quiet but at the same time with easy access to the shops and restaurants, as well as beautiful walks to the Wendover woods and the viewpoint.
Very welcoming host Susanna, she was always there to help! Not to mention the royal breakfast we had, it was delicious and we were set almost until dinner time!
We were staying with 1 year old baby and Susanna has thought of everything for us to be comfortable, we had a big cot prepared and a high chair!
Excellent stay. Beautiful room very clean and comfortable. Large bathroom spotless clean. Had everything you could need. Small fridge for drinks in room.
Breakfast was brilliant nothing too much trouble.
Owner very helpful with information on the area. Short walk into wendover with its many cafe pubs and independent shops
Would definitely stay again if in the area.
Loved the ambiance. The food menu was not to our taste. Although the breakfast was good. Only thing missing was porridge. Loved our room. Shame the safety rail fell off the door. Just as well it was me and not my partner who has mobility problems which is why we had an accessable room.. Staff were very friendly and approachable.
Lovely country pub / hotel, great find. Really friendly staff and easy check in. Only disappointment was the bar menu was not available in the evening and our budget did not stretch to the a la carte menu, which did look brilliant but out of our price range I'm afraid. Thanks - we'll hopefully be back!
Accommodations were great-- was perfect for the husband, me and our 6-year old. She loved sleeping in a bunk bed! Staff were helpful and friendly. Room was very comfortable and nicely appointed.
Loved seeing young adults making a go of it at this place...and getting it right! Congrats, guys!
Our room in main bldg was great. However, our two rooms for our adult children in the adjacent building both had strong unpleasant smells of mustiness with a hint of sewer. Not sure why. Service in dining room very accommodating and the bar was cosy and relaxing.
Excellent location, within walking distance of Wendover. Tranquility, style and comfort surround you as you enter this accommodation.
Attention to detail is thoughtfully given by the host.
Choice at breakfast is extensive and delicious!
We were walking the Ridgeway and the Red Lion was an ideal overnight stop before the last section to Ivinghoe Beacon. Very comfortable room. Friendly staff. Good pub dinner with nice selection of beers and a varied choice of breakfasts.
The room was beautifully furnished. The bed was amazingly comfortable and I particularly liked the radio and the Dyson fan. Having stayed at the hotel before it was a great improvement. All the staff were very pleasant and professional
The hotel has recently been renovated and it has been done to a fantastic standard. The amenities were great and the shower in particular was fabulous. Not what you'd expect from a pub hotel at all. Very pleasantly surprised.
Immaculately clean. very comfortable bedroom. The home was modern and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was delicious, freshly made. The host Susanna was very friendly. Overall I had a fantastic stay.
I think I tried enough B&B to say that Hale House is the best B&B in UK & Susanna set a new bar that is hard for any place else to match, it is a hidden gem in Wendover, highly recommended.
Beautiful and comfortable house, very welcoming host, fabulous breakfast. Location excellent for the Ridgeway, the town of Wendover (which is lovely!) and all local amenities.
Simply one of the best pub-hotels I've ever stayed in. Incredily charming, old place, beautofully brought up to date, from the restaurant to the rooms. Quality everywhere.
