Church Farm Guest House, hotel in Wellington

Set in the beautiful Shropshire village of Wrockwardine, on the outskirts of Telford, this splendid Georgian farmhouse provides the ideal base for a relaxing countryside break.

I booked this venue as was looking for something out of town but close enough to taxi in / out for a social event. Considering this was only a mile and a half from Wellington Central I was blown away with the location. Having never visited Wrockwardine before, the village is stunning and the property itself just as picturesque. We parked to the rear of the property and as soon as we got to the front door were greeted by Sandie with a very warm welcome. The property itself is packed full of character with the owners personal touches here and there in keeping with the age of the property. The room was plentiful, lots of space, homely and immaculate. Various options for tea, coffee etc in the room. Very quiet, no noises from other rooms etc. The bed was extremely comfortable, had a great night's sleep, which is unusual for me in a different bed. We got back late which wasn't a problem as own key to front door. Finished off our overnight stay with the best full.english I've had in a very long time. Honestly top notch!! Sandie was on hand to keep us topped up with coffees, extra toast etc. Needed another sleep after that!! Cannot recommend this B&B enough and will definitely be staying again next time I'm in the area. Thankyou.

Hadley Park House Hotel, hotel in Wellington

Set in a beautiful Georgian house on the edge of Telford, Hadley Park House features an award-winning restaurant, elegant rooms and a hot tub. Shrewsbury is 30 minutes’ drive away.

I worked at the hotel many years ago. At that time it was very rural, surrounded by fields. But now the area all around the hotel has been highly developed. So from my opinion it has lost a lot of the country feel for me. That being said, if you hadn't known how it was before all of the over development surrounding it you would still proberbly appreciate the properties gardens and old charm. The room was a good size and the bed was very comfortable. However certain aspects of the room were looking a little tired. The walk in shower whilst looking impressive is extremely slippy when wet, with no grab rails I felt very unsafe. For the higher price point I also felt that the beverage tray was disappointing, and could have had more luxurious offering. The breakfast was very tasty. But I was not checked and I would have liked some more coffee. The staff were very pleasant and professional.

Ideally situated between two large towns.

Ideally situated between two large towns. Telford centre is a short 8minute drive then Shrewsbury is about 15-20minute drive. Both accessible by train or bus if preferred where Wellington has both stations. Wellington is a market town too where the Indoor and outdoor market is held on a Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Plenty of stalls and eating establishments within the market area too as well as Wellington having plenty of cafes, pubs and eating places.

The place was really charming with unique decor, slightly unusual but very homely. Our family room was of a decent size with everything in it one needed and some extra touches such as fresh milk in the fridge. Breakfast was good and our Host very welcoming and accommodating.

being a disabled person, who relies on public transport. I liked both the train and bus station being just off the town centre. I also liked that it had got a nice selection of shops and an indoor market. There were also plenty of places to find something to eat.

Wellington looks like it was once a lovely market town - run down & closed shops/charity shops everywhere now - but there were a couple of good places to eat and have a drink - needs some regeneration & then town could be lovely again. We stayed because it had a reasonable hotel rate and was near to attractions in Shropshire like Ironbridge & Shrewsbury.

Really lovely bungalow. It was spacious, spotless and really homely! It made our weekend of working a lot more enjoyable than sitting in a hotel room. There were only 2 of us, but it would be just as comfortable with 4 people as the bedrooms and living area are a good size.
