Hotel Du Vin Stratford, hotel in Wellesbourne Hastings

Hotel Du Vin Stratford is attractively situated in Stratford-upon-Avon, and features a bar, free WiFi and on-site dining.

It was beautiful, the location was perfect, the room was clean and had everything we needed, the breakfast was delicious and the added addition of the outside area (especially at night) was so pretty. The added little touch of a hand written note and two towel displayed as swans with rose petals was just lovely. You made a lovely, romantic stay even better than we could have wished for.

Worth a visit just for the beautiful grounds but main hotel...

Worth a visit just for the beautiful grounds but main hotel is tired and in need of a tidy up, the bar lounge is also too small, especially when everyone is crammed in in the evening. The bar food is absolutely appalling and as we visited during the final of the World Cup they offered a snack menu. My partner ordered a jumbo American hotdog and it was no more than a tiny tinned hotdog in an even tinier roll. Fish and chips in the restaurant was lovely but portions could be bigger. Did not venture to the spa as I wasn’t well but probably a wise decision if the mould all around our room window was anything to go by. If it hadn’t been for the location of this hotel and the snow, I would’ve been majorly disappointed. If you’re looking for luxury, this is not the hotel for you.

My husband and I stayed for one night on jubilee bank...

My husband and I stayed for one night on jubilee bank holiday Thursday. When we arrived and went into reception there was a security guard! This made us think, what on earth have we done! There was about a twenty minute wait to get to speak to someone at reception. We were told that we had been upgraded to the Manor house, we were quite pleased by this but had to drive around to it. Beautiful old building! We couldn't get our keys to work initially , eventually getting in we put our bags in our room to find that there was no soap to wash our hands. As soon as we'd closed the door I realised I had left my bag in the room, tried opening the door with the key and we could not get it open. Another trip to the main reception where we had to queue for another twenty minutes for another key and two small bars of soap. I wasn't happy!!! We then went to the bar to wait for my sister who was also staying there, crazy queue for the bar, guy behind the bar kept getting our order wrong. On the upside though . . . The grounds are truly beautiful, the breakfast was fantastic! Great selection of food and well worth the money. The chairs in the dining area though were pretty dirty with stains and food all over them. The pool was lovely and warm and very clean. The bed was amazing, so comfy! I would go back there again but take my own soap next time!

Great location and easy to find.

Great location and easy to find. If staying in the coach house, check in first then get your luggage as it is a short walk from reception and you might be able to park closer to the room. Avoid room 55 in the coach house unless you find the noise of a water heater coming on once or twice through out the evening and night soothing, it was like a kettle on full boil next to the bed!

Middle of nowhere. Issues not resolved ina timely manner.

Middle of nowhere. Issues not resolved ina timely manner. Room too large and unable to use laptop while in bed as sockets miles away from bed. Bathroom wa a horrible draughty wet room and the water went all over the floor creating a slip hazard.

It’s a beautiful setting, great venue for a wedding.

It’s a beautiful setting, great venue for a wedding. However parts of the hotel are very tired, dated & dirty. Especially the pool changing rooms. We stayed in the old part of the hotel, there’s no staff in that part of the hotel. Reception, bar & restaurant are badly understaffed.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment, in an old stables, which was great. Really spacious and comfortable with a big, comfortable super king bed and separate twin for the kids. Large sitting area and small kitchen downstairs. Great for a family. Beware the stairs are quite steep though & probably not great for anyone with mobility problems. Hotel is set in beautiful grounds, lots of space and nice walks. Breakfast was good and felt we had a good value stay.

Breakfast set out with a very good variety of things to eat and drink and when asking for further items (vegetarian sausages etc) they were brought promptly and with good service. I loved the estate the hotel was on. Plenty of space for walking with a lake and attractive buildings. I liked the low level buildings and the bedrooms. The pool facilities were appreciated.

Location lovely, hotel a disaster, extremely expensive, no comforts at all in the room, no breakfast included in extortionate room price, tired decor, one bedrooms window handles broken onto balcony, overlooking asylum seekers quarters, which we had not been told about

The room was very clean and had been recently refurbished. The radiator in the room was cold, but the bathroom heating was fine, fortunately the weather wasn't cold so it wasn't a problem for us. The hotel restaurant provided a good range of evening meals and seating.

It was our second stay in the hotel. We like the atmosphere of the pub and restaurant with different types of seating inside and outside. Good kitchen. Easy parking. Breakfast service at both days and second evening dinner (Dan) was perfect.
