The Bank House Hotel, hotel in Uttoxeter

In the centre of Uttoxeter, this beautiful Georgian building was once the town’s first bank and now offers free parking, a bar and 17 individually decorated en suite rooms.

Breakfast was great and very quick. Fried eggs perfectly done as was everything else. Also a good size. Good bar and beer tasted clean. Bed was comfortable and very clean. Good supply of shampoo and soap and towels were plentiful as well as clean and nicely presented. TV was small but worked well. Tea, coffee, milk and biscuits were well stocked. Lots of storage around. In the hotel was reasonably quiet. Staff were helpful and friendly. Shower worked fairly well and pressure wasn't too bad. Within easy reach of all bars and restaurants in town and railway station is about a 10 minute walk. Some really nice bars in town from quiet boutique intimate establishments through to a Spoons. Easy reach to a great Italian, Mario's is quality. If you want a curry or Chinese restaurant then there are a couple within easy walking distance. There's a Costa not far away and a Bear cafe and a Starbucks near the railway station. A good Marstons, Dapple Grey, nearby and probably about a 5 to 10 minute walk with reasonable prices. If you're driving then the A50 is close by but far enough away not to hear it. Road outside is hardly used at night so no disturbance from traffic unless you are very sensitive.

A beautiful apartment set in lovely grounds. The apartment is nicely decorated, spacious, comfortable, clean and has everything you need. It was perfect for walking to the racecourse, where I was working, and walking distance from town with its brewery, pubs and restaurants. It is quiet too. The owners were communicative and helpful.

Where we stayed was close to the main road which meant a lot of road noise at night but it was close to the town, which was worth looking around lots of little shops and on Saturday there was a Craft Market with lots of stalls selling anything from basket work, jewelry, pastries, cards, and paintings. The townsfolk were kind, and informative, and made you feel welcome. It all depends on why you are visiting in the first place. We were told that as it was half term there were more children as they were visiting the theme park, there is also the horse racing track nearby

Uttoxeter is lively... especially I would guess on racing occasions the racecourse and facilities is amongst the best I have experienced anywhere and i would suggest punches way above its weight... The centre of Uttoxeter has a choice of pubs bars and eating places... I would guess it can be a little in your face at times but people having a good time have never been a problem to me... Lots of shops both local and quirky mixed with supermarkets etc...

A lovely place with a genuine traditional feel and welcome.

A lovely place with a genuine traditional feel and welcome. It does have modern conveniences and international cuisine, but in essence Uttoxeter is unmistakeably an English town. There are pubs, shops, and a fabulous chippy all within a few hundred metres of each other. The place is busy on race weekends, but it is still a warm and social place on the regular days. Easily accessed from the A50, Uttoxeter is a great location for a mini-break, it has miles of stunningly beautiful countryside, villages and hamlets all around it. For the more adventurous Alton Towers is very nearby.

The town itself is sweet and has plenty of supermarkets...

The town itself is sweet and has plenty of supermarkets nearby plus a soft play , cinema and other shops like bm and pound land and lots of local ones on the High St. The only downside is that there is only one bus to and from alton towers and it leaves at 9.30am and comes back at 5.30pm. We had tickets booked for the afternoon swimming session so it's something to bear in mind, although my 3 year old was happy enough visiting the hotels Inc cbeebies and luckily the weather was good. I was nervous about catching the bus back as it was busy on the way in and I was worried there wouldn't be space on the return trip. Ita £10 return, Google maps takes you to the wrong bus stop aswell so would just head straight to the bus station. All of the people I encountered were friendly and staff at the Old Swan were efficient and polite and also a lovely man in dominoes gave my daughter a bottle of juice. They seem a lot more tolerant and welcoming of children too which is a plus.

We would recommend TableTable for meals good value for money and the food was of a good standard. We went to Uttoxeter to visit The National Aboretum which we did, well worth a visit. A lot of the places we looked to visit were closed so, check on the opening times before going.

Stayed over following a trip to Alton Towers. Rebecca and David were welcoming, warm and helpful. Off street parking in a pleasant village location, just outside Uttoxeter. The rooms were well made up and bathrooms modern and clean. Breakfast options good and very tasty! Excellent recommendation from Rebecca for an evening meal at The Butchers Arms, in the nearby village of Bramshall. David also plays a very capable barman, with a good selection of beers, wines and soft drinks.

Lovely little apartment in the perfect location. Everything was so nice and clean and the owner was really helpful when I had any questions and the room was ready super early. Communications and details regarding access was detailed and made finding the property and getting in easy. Although we didn’t use the kitchen really, it looked well equipped and would be a great base for exploring uttoxeter and the surrounding areas.

I stay here whenever in the region for work. Rooms are excellent although this time my room (room 1) the heating could not be turned off. this meant i had to leave the windows open which meant all the road noise kept waking me. Dinner, Chicken kebab, was fantastic and highly recommended. Staff are very professional and helpful. Really good value for money and recommend this hotel if you are in the area.

Everything was perfect. The location is excellent, it's 5 minutes walk to the town center. We stayed here to attend Uttoxeter races, this is within walking distance. The room is very nice, it has a big ensuite and everything you need (home from home). Also as an extra bonus to the room.. the bed is really really comfortable. Peter is a great host. Thank you for a perfect stay 😁

the hotel (loose description) was like something out of faulty towers, the hotel was open all night with random people allowed access to all areas of the hotel without anyone being able to check who they were. the rooms were dreadful with random doors all over the place and absolutely no heating in the rooms, the bathrooms were nothing more than a corridor with a toilet in them
