Westley B&B, hotel in Uplyme

Offering a garden and garden view, Westley B&B is situated in Uplyme, 2.8 km from Lyme Regis Front Beach and 14 km from Golden Cap.

We were met at the door by Jenni and shown to our room. It is a lovely house and the bedroom was very comfortable and had sole use of the next-door bathroom, which had a bath and separate shower. Breakfast was cooked by Ian in the morning with the usual range of full English items, as well as a great selection of cereals, yoghurt and fruit. It was great to chat with our hosts, who provided a good deal of local info, as well as being really nice to chat... The location of the B&B is great, being in Uplyme, out of the manic traffic that can be Lyme Regis on a Bank HOliday, but the River Lim trail is literally right next to the house, so it's an easy walk (1½ mile) into and back to Lyme. This is mostly tarmac but with a bit of track over a field, but did not require walking boots. It's also relatively flat, following the river which makes it better than staying in some parts of the town, which can be very steep and hilly. There was parking right outside the house and the place is so quiet, so after our dinners in town and a nice stroll back to the B&B we slept well. A great couple of nights and highly recommended...

Situated in Uplyme, the recently renovated Yawl, Harcombe House features accommodation 4.5 km from Dinosaurland Fossil Museum and 46 km from Sherborne Old Castle.

Really kind host Patricia, even offered us a glass of wine on arrival. We found loads of snacks inside (chocolate bars. biscuits, oat bars, cereal with milk, fruits, croissants, pieces of cheese and so on...), coffee machine with pods. All the items you could ever need- just like home, starting from painkillers to women hygiene. Room was very clean. 10/10 would recommend 👌

The Mariners Hotel, hotel in Uplyme

Featuring sea views, The Mariners Hotel is nestled in the heart of Lyme Regis. Dating back to the 17th century, this former coaching inn has a large private garden and rooms with free WiFi access.

The staff were exceptional, friendly, approachable, patient and professional - could not be falted! My room was comfortable, bright and airy with a good supply of tea, coffee, biscuits, etc. The breakfast menu was varied and generous. Whilst I didn't have any cooked food I enjoyed the continental choices. The friends I was with really enjoyed their cooked food - tasty, generous portions, well presented and appetising! The food served on both the Saturday and Sunday nights was much tastier than on the Friday night (mushroom wellington in puff pastry as it should be!) and the hake was delicious. All the food served was delicious, the portions generous and the staff could not do enough to ensure we were aware of the delays, serve drinks at the table with smiling faces and a genuine sense of humour and caring attitude - excellent customer service at all times.

Cottage was much more affordable compared to cottages in Lyme Regis. Lyme Regis only a short distance from Uplyme. Difficult though if you dont have own transport. Had to walk in the dark from Lyme Regis to Uplyme due to taxi being unavailable. Not impressed by the pub in Uplyme. Busy street makes it difficult for children to get to the park.
