Fantastic location with elegant and well furnished country house hotel. We stayed in a junior suite that accommodated two adults and our two-year old well. Lovely dinner on arrival where we were attended by a charming waiter and my partner was even able to converse with him in her native Spanish.

The Guest Suite, Buttsfield Lane., hotel in Uckfield

Located in East Hoathly and only 12 km from Glyndebourne Opera House, The Guest Suite, Buttsfield Lane. Provides accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking.

We stopped here for one night, to go to a wedding nearby. The place had everything we could have needed, with an especially comfortable bed and a lovely powerful shower. There village was also lovely but we didn't get the chance to have a proper explore. The host was super lovely, whilst the house is connected, there is a good separation for the annex that we stayed in and we didn't hear anything through the walls etc.

Having a car, Uckfield is in a strategic location to visit Sussex and most of Southern coast in Summer, without having to deal with the crowded coastal towns. The countryside is just lovely, the hotel infrastructure is quite good and the staff very professional and friendly.

Uckfield is in a good location for accessing London by train and for seeing places like Eastbourne, Brighton, Hastings, a range of National Trust properties and the South Downs. It is helpful to have a car.

Spacious rooms with great facilities and friendly staff.

Spacious rooms with great facilities and friendly staff. The afternoon tea and breakfast was great. As we had a child with us, we could only use the pool and spa at certain times and as a result this became quite busy at times, and we weren't able to use the Jacuzzi and Sauna to the fullest.

I think Uckfield needs to promote walking in the area.

I think Uckfield needs to promote walking in the area. We were unable to get any local maps of walks despite going to the local community centre. Perhaps the hotel should actively try to promote this, we did ask for maps at reception but were told we could walk round the golf course.

The Hotel and grounds are first class and the double room booked on a half board basis had beautiful views across the golf course and surrounding areas. The bedroom was very comfortable and generous in size. Dinner and breakfast in the Pavilion restaurant were enjoyable and of good value. The staff is attentive and polite. This was an overnight stay and we did not avail ourselves of the other many facilities at the resort on this occasion but look forward to doing soon on our next visit.

Beautiful grounds, common areas, restaurant. Really beautiful hotel. Terrific breakfast (smoked haddock was outstanding). Lovely bathroom. Really liked the buttons in the shower to switch the different heads on. Small thing but why isn't this the standard? Perfect place to stay for Glyndebourne. We've come back for a second visit.

I've stayed here several times and never been disappointed. Everything was up to its normal high standard, the room, the breakfast, the pool, the staff etc. Notable that they have replaced most of the loungers in the pool area with new ones.

Good to have teabags, coffee and milk - thank you. Key safe worked well but the key did need a fair bit of wiggling in the lock! Comfortable space and big TV. Good cafes up the High Street - Cafe 212 and Harpfields.
