We had an excellent stay at the Merchants Yard for my partners birthday. Very clean and modern, the special touches were appreciated. The breakfast was delicious, and we had food in the evening which was also superb.
All staff were fabulous, and explained everything and looked after us.
We booked the hotel for the electric charging facility, and were impressed to be given our own allocated space.
Tideswell is very peaceful and a great location to walk to Millers Dale, and easy to drive to a variety of places for amazing walks and sights.we did arrive for the annual food festival which was entertaining, but otherwise a very quiet place.

The nicely decorated room was above a friendly, lively pub. The bed was comfortable and we paid for the breakfast, which was well worth it and very tasty. It’s in a great spot for all Tideswell and the surrounding area has to offer. Dogs are very welcome here and we will definitely be staying again.

Great little old style pub for food, drinks and a sleep. We stayed here as a stopover and glad we did. Would stay again.
Litton had a great pub and a useful post office. Tideswell had 3 pubs, 2 restaurants, a cafe, a butchers, a Coop, 2 x fish and chip shops and a bakery, as well as a few other small businesses. The Star was a great place for a meal.

Tideswell is a convenient village for visiting Buxton, Bakewell and the Monsal trail in the Peak District.
It has 3 pubs within the village that all serve food, plus an Italien restaurant, a fish and chip shop and a local convenience store. The eateries get very busy in the evening so it's probably best to pre book. There are plenty of pubs in surrounding villages.
You probably need a car to get there, we did not use public transport.
There is a lovely church known as the Cathedral of the Peaks.

Possibly blown away by the friendliness of the place. I was expecting it to be friendly but it exceeded my expectations. Cathedral of the west worth a vist. I recommend a full breakfast from nearby cafes and a central location for many key Peak district sites.

Visited and toured the church had several long walks, a great place for dogs great restaraunts and pubs on the doorstep. Had an immense breakfast at the George Inn very friendly and food was amazing. A short walk away is The Anchor lovely food excellent service and great atmosphere
Location of the property in Tideswell was perfect being just up from the main part of the village. It was perfectly placed for walks in the area ie Tideswell via Millers Dale and Ladybower. The property has good off road parking right in front of it. The village itself had a lot going for it - busy, well kept and good pubs. We would recommend the George Inn just down the lane from the property- the evening meal was excellent .
We liked the owner providing a bottle of red wine-that was appreciated.
This was probably the best hotel breakfast I have had in years. Quality meat products, perfectly poached eggs, piping hot and beautifully cooked.
My evening meal (fish and chips) the night before was excellent. Quality coffee in the rooms too.
Also of note is the beer. Very well kept and quaffable.
I intend to book again when I'm next in the area..This time hopefully, I won't turn up with a broken denture!
The house was comfortable and was lovely and clean. It's a great location for walking to local pubs and restaurants and a quick drive to wonderful nature spots in the Peak District. The owner left me some bread, biscuits and a bottle of wine which was much appreciated. Having a fenced yard and being dog friendly is a definite added bonus! Lovely comfortable beds. I would definitely stay here again.
While the hotel is tucked away, its a great spot to stay while walking around the area. Village really pretty and easily accessible walks round with history in the village. The accommodation was luxurious, staff so friendly and accommodating. A good value meal but the breakfast was exceptional - cooked breakfast served on a Derbyshire oatcake. Excellent coffee and fresh croissants.
Such a friendly place to stay. Very welcoming and helpful.
Room was clean and had all you needed in the way of facilities
Food was excellent in the George but also further options locally within walking distance which was good to be able to have
Ideal location close to Bakewell Buxton & Chatsworth House
Due to its corner plot, the cottage has huge rooms - plenty of space for us all. The house was well equipped. Very clean. The location was excellent - very easy to walk to a number of cafes/pubs, and Tideswell is really central to get to other towns/walks. We would happily stay here again.
Very cosy cottage - perfect location. Loved the little touches around the cottage.
Would highly recommend - lots of shops in village. Great organic meat from the butchers.
Walks - would recommend Tideswell to Monsal Head and Chrome Hill as looked like something from the Hobbit!
Great cottage for a family stay and although we don't have a dog, we liked how dog friendly it is. Lovely rooms and great location, no parking problem at all, close to a pub , some restaurants and shops .
Beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything that you needed.
Welcoming and comfortable after a long flight and drive. Very handy to the village. Well equipped for self catering. Easy access from Tideswell to lots of the attractions of the Peak District. Comfortable beds. Quiet. Outdoor space pleasant. As portrayed snd described.
Tideswell is a great location, with various pubs and restaurants, and nice walks from the village. The Beautiful Bobbin was a cosy, modern and clean cottage, well appointed with Christmas tree and decorations providing a thoughtful touch.
Lovely boutique hotel. Great lunch and breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful, organised our taxi into Buxton and back. Room tastfully furnished and light, considering there were no windows, just a velux in the lovely, high ceiling.
It was a great place to stay!! Couldn't fault the cottage!! Stunning area for walking, we climbed Mam Tor, also in Tideswell a short walk from the cottage a perfect Italian restaurant and you can take your own booze 😀 called Sal's.
This property is in such a great location easy walking distance to all shops , pubs etc
The cottage is lovely and has everything that we needed whilst staying there ! We loved having the log burner on after our long walks
The breakfast was the best breakfast we have ever had any where that we have previousley stayed it was even better than food we have had from 5***** hotels plus the owner of the lodgings was so kind and helpful
The property was very clean and comfortable
Lots of walks available within a short distance we’re a big appeal to me. The village is wonderful and the cathedral is beautiful
I’d definitely return!
The staff and the room were lovely. Sam, Leon & John were so helpful & accommodating. I think Tideswell could be the friendliest place I've ever been to!
