Beautifully designed and so hospitable! Ian was super helpful with directions and parking and kindly showed us around when we got there. The B&B itself is gorgeous, they’ve clearly put a lot of thought into the design and final/personal touches which just made it 👌🏻

Service was top notch from the off. I was greeted at the door following parking. Breakfast was easy to book. Recommendations were given for food and I was extremely grateful for this as the pub I visited was incredible. Rooms are spotless and breakfast set me up for the day. Don't be put off by not having a cooked breakfast. Fruit and coffee was exceptional. Everything was spot on. Very quiet and Brad was very sociable when it mattered. The room and hotel itself is spotless and maintained to a very high standard. I was worried about parking but there was plenty of spaces. Didn't need car charging but it was offered to me and available.

Everything bar the owner, Jeremy. SO Bloody Rude and overstepped my personal boundaries by touching me on my arm without my permission to do so! INNAPPROPRIATE to say the least. He also withheld my refund as requested by my goodself because of the term and conditions laid out in the contract between himself, booking.com and myself. I paid £220 for one night stay at The Horn of Plenty near Tavistock. It is Amazing, however the owner, Jeremy leaves a lot less to be desired. Maybe, dear old Jeremy has to take early retirement and hand the keys to somebody more fitting
to such an establishment, maybe the under manager or the Head Chef. Respect to both of them. Hope to meet you one day. It would be an honor for us all to partake at the HoP!

It was my husband's 70th birthday and the staff put a card on our table. They wished my husband a happy birthday, when we came down for our meal.

Tavistock is a beautiful moorland town, with plenty of attractions, particularly the pannier market. There are bars and cafes aplenty and it's a lovely place to stay. This trip was only for one night but we've been here several times previously.

The church lane cafe is amazing good food and excellent service. The market doesn’t appear as busy on my recent visits.

An ideal size - could all be done on foot but with enough dining and drinking choices. Handsome architecture of local stone and granite. We recommend the Pannier Market (historic, with interesting stalls including unusually good second-hand books, and all under cover). The church, formerly adjacent to a monastery (of which a few traces remain) has a stained glass window by William Morris and Burne-Jones.

I live close to the center of Tavistock and was on a trip while I sorted things at home. Sometimes it is good to detach from the absolute familiar. Tavistock is a quiet, dreamy place in the main but has some night life centering around restaurants and take aways . The remaining public houses generally provide a warm welcome with a range of facilities across the board. Shopping: a good range of supermarkets, independent stores and franchises. Leisure pursuits are various in and around the town. It remains a satellite to The City of Plymouth however, with an other worldly quality. Not a suburb. Any recommendations would be biased.

Good Market town with lots of little shops but like most town starting to show signs of a down turn, has some free no street parking which is good but the council are planning to install parking meters which will kill the high street.

Mary Tavey querky with militarea £80 for the same as PT slightly cheaper and just as good
Our room was quiet, very clean, and nicely decorated. Like the rest of the Tavistock Hotel it had been refurbished tastefully recently . The Landlord Mark was very welcoming and went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable. We did not eat at the Hotel as we were visiting relatives locally. You can park legally outside in a loading bay between 6pm and 8am and move your car into the Pay and Display Co-Op car park next-door to the Hotel in the morning. We will stay at the Tavistock Hotel and Inn when we next visit Tavistock. Recommend!
Superb location right next to the fast-flowing River Tavy where apparently you can see both otters and kingfisher. Slight drawback with location is fairly busy road outside which means driving onto and reversing from parking spaces can be tricky. The landlord Paul and his wife Carla were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
Breakfast in the conservatory was superb; all products locally sourced, eggs done to perfection on soft white bread and fabulous coffee. Would make a return visit.
Tavistock is a beautiful town (although I am biased, having grown up there) and this is perfectly located for exploring. Great shops, pubs, and restaurants are very accessible. The staff were very polite and everything got sorted very quickly; check-in and check-out were very smooth, and the pub did a good and cheap breakfast on the morning of my departure. I thought accommodation close to (above) the pub might be noisy in the night; it wasn't, everything was comfy.
I had a wonderful stay at Apple Tree. I was travelling for work and would definitely return either for another work trip to to visit tavistock with family. Perfect location, right in the centre, friendly staff and very clean rooms. Rooms are decorated perfectly and the facilities are to a high standard. It felt like home from home for me. Thank you for a lovely comfortable stay made being away from home that little bit easier! :)
This characterful property is located within a few minutes walk of all Tavistock has to offer. It was spotlessly clean and comfortable with fantastic facilities for our group of three female friends enjoying a short break. Excellent communication with the host before, during and at the end of our stay. Highly recommended for a stay in delightful Tavistock.
I had the most wonderful stay and Eddy was an amazing host.
The place exceeded all my expectations and the facilities as well as being a central location in the town was comfortable and very quiet and relaxing.
If you are visiting Tavistock and the surrounding area (including Plymouth) then this is the place to stay.
The property is in a very remote location but that’s what makes it so nice. The Annex is well set out and has lovely decor.Viv and Howard are wonderful hosts and very knowledgeable of the area if you need any help. It’s a 10 minute drive in to Tavistock if you want to go into town. I would definitely stay there again.
The cottage is close to Tavistock and we walked into town on several occasions, which was very convenient. The lounge is comfortable although the TV is very small for the size of the room. The kitchen is well equipped although we did not do a lot of cooking as we have family in the area. The bed was comfortable.
Fabulous roomy and comfortable accommodation - well equipped with everything one needs for a self catering break. Great base for exploring Devon and Cornwall in the car, but also great scenery and walking in the immediate area. So peaceful! Particularly liked the large shower and the massive comfy bed.
Great place to stay, though not recommended if you have mobility issues.
The Lily Pad is spotlessly clean and has everything stated, including plenty of breafast materials!
John is a friendly host.
Tavistock is a superb location for travelling to many parts of Devon and Cornwall.
Highly recommended.
spacious couple of rooms under the hosts house - communication before arrival was good as we had to change our arrival time, good amount and variety of food left in fridge for our three breakfasts, the host was very helpful with local information, also had access to a nice patio area
Very comfortable bed and lovely room. A quirky BandB without the breakfast which was supplied by the nice Kitchen Cafe next door. Excellent location in the centre of Tavistock. Thankfully accepted a one night stay which other hotels in town did not!
Lovely room with a modern, clean bathroom . Very warm and cosy with friendly staff and a good breakfast (extra, but Wetherspoons prices). Good value for money and great pint of beer. Better than many hotels at twice the price.
Room was good size and ok, large bath but no stand alone shower.
Breakfast saved the whole stay. Friendly staff at breakfast and checkout breakfast served quickly.
Free parking and location is great for Tavistock.
we liked the setting by the river Tavy and the
access to the garden where we watched the
kingfishers flying up and down the river.
the breakfast was amazing, better than any hotel.
good value for money.
Fabulous location in the centre of Tavistock. The accommodation itself was lovely. The host Claire welcoming with great recommendations where to eat. I would recommend Dancy Mews with no hesitation.
yes lovely hotel very clean lovely staff and great breakfast only stay a couple nights but would stay again if we were in that area thank you all once again for a lovely time there
Didn't have breakfast due to covid but location was excellent. Hotel is right in Tavistock but far enough away from the main square which helps when trying to sleep at night.
