Struan House B&B, hotel in Tarbert

With a 4-star rating from Visit Scotland, the pretty Struan House B&B is found on Tarbert’s peaceful harbour-side.

As I had been ill beforehand and was still rather weak, they both bent over backwards to ensure that my stay was a very comfortable, safe and happy one. They could not have done more for me and, if ever I am in that area again, I would be delighted to return if they will have me. Bless you both and a big Thank You.

A lovely place, a lovely area.

A lovely place, a lovely area. Great service and food options from The Deli, overlooking the harbour. The evening meal at The Starfish was ok, but the organisation, attention to detail and service wasn’t ok.

Tarbert is a lovely little town with plenty of shops for food and other supplies, without being a busy shopping centre. There are great walks around the area, and if you can travel a bit there are loads of places to visit, or you could just sit and watch the world go by in the harbour!

Eating out in Tarbert can be a problem early in the week.

Eating out in Tarbert can be a problem early in the week. There is a limited choice at the best of times, but most places seem to be closed on a Tuesday (and maybe some other days as well). A tour of Tarbert itself only takes half an hour or less, but it is in an attractive setting. I suggest you pass through in the daytime, have a coffee in Cafe Ca'Dora, buy local whisky from the specialist local seller, and move on.

Tarbert is a lovely little seaside fishing village on the shores of Loch Fyne in Argyle. It's a nice location with great facilities for a small village. We ate in the Stonefield Castle restaurant about two miles from the village. The setting and view from the dining room were outstanding, both the service and food were excellent.

We loved the whole place! We had a King Size room with a lovely view of the sea which was amazing! The room was Exceptionally clean and the furnishings were fab and very tasteful. The bathroom in particular was outstanding! The location is fab as you are just outside the main centre of Tarbert which allows for a much quieter and tranquil experience. Martyn the host was so hospitable and we really enjoyed our chats with him. Sam the puppy was gorgeous and we joined them both for a lovely wee walk along the cove.

West Loch Shore, Tarbert, is the best possible location for exploring Kintyre - Tarbert is a lovely village, with everything you could need, and the Lodge was ideal for us. Clean, spacious, and well equipped. We had a really comfortable stay, and loved how peaceful it was. Arrival was smooth, staff were friendly and helpful and we had everything we needed. The view over the Loch is just lovely. A brilliant spot for a getaway as a couple or as a family.

The room was decorated in good taste with many interesting curios and art objects. The view of Tarbert Bay was stunning. I doubt that any other view in the town could compare. Allan was a very nice host. A breakfast tray was placed on the table right outside our door at the appointed time. This was the second time we booked this room. The first was in 2018. Glad that everything was just as we remembered it.

Very friendly, welcoming hosts. Able to park right outside the property which was a bonus. The property is located near the harbour and Tarbert Castle. Local shops and restaurants are just a walk away. We both enjoyed a good nights sleep in the comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious. More tea /coffee and toast was offered. Would stay in this property again if we were travelling to this area.

Breakfast was excellent. Peter makes homemade bread and great porridge and coffee. The views are fabulous of Loch Fyne and the rock and spring landscape in front of the house are spectacular and unique. Tarbert is a beautiful town, very picturesque. Enjoyed a drive down to Skipness and the old castle there. Peter and Louise were very gracious hosts.

The Knap Guest House is in a great location on Tarbert Harbour. The rooms were comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was provided on a tray to the room which consisted of a hot roll (bacon or egg), toast, cereal, tea, coffee and juice. We would definitely stay here again.
